  • Patent number: 11788970
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for detecting a target gas, which involve a configuration of a light source (120) and paper tape (110) such that light (112) emitted from the light source (120) can transmit through the paper tape (110). At least some of the portion of light (112) which transmits through a paper tape (110) can be detected with a detector (130). Detection of the light (112) can be used to determine presence or absence of low concentrations of the target gas.

  • Patent number: 11277652
Abstract: A system finds and aggregates the most relevant and current information about the people and things that a user cares about. The information gathering is based on current context (e.g., where the user is, what the user is doing, what the user is saying/typing, etc.). The result of the context based information gathering is presented ubiquitously on user interfaces of any of the various physical devices operated by the user.

  • Publication number: 20190041338
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for distinguishing a target gas from other target gases, which involve a configuration of a light source (120) and paper tape (110) such that light (112) emitted from the light source (120) can reflect off the paper tape (110). A reflected portion (114) of the light (112) can be detected, as well as the humidity and optionally the temperature. The light (112) can emit in at least three wavelengths selected from red, green, blue, and ultra-violet wavelengths, and pattern recognition can be used to identify and/or distinguish the target gas from the group of target gases based on wavelength detection information and the one or more of the humidity and the temperature.

  • Patent number: 10175483
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for displaying virtual objects in a mixed reality environment in a way that is optimal and most comfortable for a user to interact with the virtual objects. When a user is not focused on the virtual object, which may be a heads-up display, or HUD, the HUD may remain body locked to the user. As such, the user may explore and interact with a mixed reality environment presented by the head mounted display device without interference from the HUD. When a user wishes to view and/or interact with the HUD, the user may look at the HUD. At this point, the HUD may change from a body locked virtual object to a world locked virtual object. The user is then able to view and interact with the HUD from different positions and perspectives of the HUD.

  • Patent number: 10139623
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the creation of a perspective-locked virtual object having in world space. The virtual object may be consumed) by another user with a consumption device at a location, position, and orientation which is the same as, or proximate to, the location, position, and orientation where the virtual object is created. Objects may have one, few or many allowable consumption locations, positions, and orientations defined by its creator.

  • Patent number: 9977492
Abstract: Embodiments that relate to presenting a mixed reality environment via a mixed reality display device are disclosed. For example, one disclosed embodiment provides a method for presenting a mixed reality environment via a head-mounted display device. The method includes using head pose data to generally identify one or more gross selectable targets within a sub-region of a spatial region occupied by the mixed reality environment. The method further includes specifically identifying a fine selectable target from among the gross selectable targets based on eye-tracking data. Gesture data is then used to identify a gesture, and an operation associated with the identified gesture is performed on the fine selectable target.

  • Patent number: 9848813
Abstract: A method for determining an operational state of a driver of a vehicle uses an awareness detection arrangement. The awareness detection arrangement includes at least a first and a second source for generating data relating to the behavior of the driver. The method includes receiving, from the first and the second source, data relating to at least one of physiological data of the driver, the operation of the vehicle, and a model of the driver operating the vehicle, comparing the data from the first and the second source with a driver state model defining a plurality of predefined driver states for each of the first and the second source, respectively, determining based on the comparison, for each of the first and the second source, a state probability for each of the plurality of predefined driver states, and weighing the determined driver states for the first and the second source with each other for determining an overall operational state probability for the driver.

  • Patent number: 9812046
Abstract: A mixed reality accommodation system and related methods are provided. In one example, a head-mounted display device includes a plurality of sensors and a display system for presenting holographic objects. A mixed reality safety program is configured to receive a holographic object and associated content provider ID from a source. The program assigns a trust level to the object based on the content provider ID. If the trust level is less than a threshold, the object is displayed according to a first set of safety rules that provide a protective level of display restrictions. If the trust level is greater than or equal to the threshold, the object is displayed according to a second set of safety rules that provide a permissive level of display restrictions that are less than the protective level of display restrictions.
