  • Publication number: 20060288318
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that associates an error in a layout with a cell. During operation, the system receives a layout which is designed to create a target feature with an intended shape. Next, the system determines an error in a critical dimension of the target feature. The system then identifies a cell in the layout based on the error's location in the layout, thereby associating the error with the cell. Note that associating errors with cells allows the errors to be summarized based on the associated cells, which can reduce the amount of time required to identify and fix the errors.

  • Publication number: 20060059439
Abstract: A graphical production system produces pixel bar charts, in various embodiments. In an embodiment, a pixel bar chart is constructed that may include multiple bars with substantially equal widths and potentially variable heights to enable visual data analysis. A bar may include a number of pixel units corresponding to a volume of data records represented within the bar. Selected visual indicators are displayed within the pixel units of the bar, where a selected visual indicator represents a value of an attribute of a data record represented by the pixel unit. In an embodiment, the pixel units may be ordered within a bar in a particular sequence (e.g., ascending, descending or some other order). Further, in an embodiment, the bar width is determined to minimize the amount of padding. In an embodiment, a visual indicator scale is displayed to indicate values associated with each visual indicator.

  • Publication number: 20050084885
Abstract: Zinc finger proteins of the Cys2His2 type represent a class of malleable DNA binding proteins which may be selected to bind diverse sequences. Typically, zinc finger proteins containing three zinc finger domains, like the murine transcription factor Zif268 and the human transcription factor Spl, bind nine contiguous base pairs (bp). To create a class of proteins which would be generally applicable to target unique sites within complex genomes, the present invention provides a polypeptide linker that fuses two three-finger proteins. Two six-fingered proteins were created and demonstrated to bind 18 contiguous bp of DNA in a sequence specific fashion. Expression of these proteins as fusions to activation or repression domains allows transcription to be specifically up or down modulated within cells. Polydactyl zinc finger proteins are broadly applicable as genome-specific transcriptional switches in gene therapy strategies and the development of novel transgenic plants and animals.

  • Publication number: 20040037949
Abstract: A method of creating an array of organic light emitting diode pixels comprises the steps of providing a mold (12) including recesses (15) for defining pixels and conduits (13, 14) leading to the recesses, positioning the mold (12) so that the recesses (15) are on a substrate, filling the recesses by means of the conduits (13, 14) with a liquid comprising an organic light emitting material, allowing the liquid in the recesses (15) to form into solid pixel structures, and removing the mold to leave the desired pixel array. A color array can be formed by sequentially forming pixels which emit light of different primary colors, for example using a different mold for each color.
