  • Patent number: 4865108
Abstract: A frame for a retractable blind which can be gathered together, said frame comprises an upper head-rail consisting of a hollow profile, a bottom rail which can be raised and lowered and which forms the bottom of the blind, lateral profiles, corner members connecting the head-rail to the lateral profiles, longitudinal channels in said lateral profiles, draw cords passing through the lateral channels, a plurality of cord passages in said corner parts, all of which are connected to one another via a common space and a sliding surface associated with each cord passage to deflect the draw cords, as they pass from the head-rail to the associated lateral profile.

  • Patent number: 4807683
Abstract: A retractable screen comprising a head rail, lateral profiles extending generally perpendicular from each end of the headrail, a bottom rail having end portions movable in said lateral profiles, draw-cords connected to said bottom rail, a slide mounted on one of said lateral profiles, passages formed in said slide, said passages opening into the front face of said slide, the draw-cords passing through said passages, operation of said draw-cords causing raising or lowering of said bottom rail, said draw-cords extending to the front of said slide, so that they may be manually gripped and pulled.

  • Patent number: 4580753
Abstract: A support bracket for a venetian blind headrail which is in the form of an open sided box structure including a top (14), bottom (10) and a side (16) and/or rear wall (12) and a separate front wall (18, 20) which is pivotal about a vertical axis with respect to the top and bottom walls, and which includes top and bottom flanges (22). This pivoting is effected by a pivotal connection including a guide aperture (30) formed preferably in the top and bottom flanges, the aperture providing two guide surfaces (32, 34) angled with respect to one another, a hinge element (28) in the top and bottom walls engaging in each aperture, whereby the front wall can be pivoted between an open position and a closed position transverse to the open position. A latch (38, 40) is provided on the top and bottom flanges and on the top and bottom walls, the latch being spaced from the pivotal connection and prevents pivoting of the front wall away from the closed position.

  • Patent number: 4480360
Abstract: A clip for mounting a wall or ceiling panel structure having a plurality of panels in which the panels have inturned rims on their longitudinal edges and preferably beads on the rims. The clip has a body having downwardly extending first members preferably adjacent one edge and a downwardly extending fourth member preferably adjacent an opposite edge.A second downwardly extending member having lateral lugs is adjacent and spaced from the first member by an amount to accommodate two rims. A pair of third downwardly extending members is shaped to enable two panels to be spaced from one another and is also provided with a lug so that the clip may alternatively be used for mounting a panel adjacent a wall surface.

  • Patent number: 4475580
Abstract: A mechanism for the roller of a roller blind, in which a housing has rotatably mounted therein a pulley over which a ball cord, passes, with two pieces of cord hanging down, one from each side of the pulley. The balls of the ball cord can be engaged in one of two U-shaped slots, to lock the cord. The U-shaped slots are each formed in a locking element which is designed as a component which can be fastened to the housing in either of two different positions, the locking part being arranged on the locking element in such a way that, in one or other of the two different positions, it always interacts with one or the other of the pieces of cord hanging down.

  • Patent number: 4226455
Abstract: This invention relates to a locking device for a raisable or liftable venetian blind in which the bottom rail of the venetian blind includes an end piece extending into and guided by the side housing of the blind and in which a flexible lifting member engages the end piece of the bottom rail to raise and lower the same. A spring urged pivoted latch is provided within the lower portion of the housing which automatically engages over the end piece of the bottom rail when it is in the lowered position and the tension in the lifting member is relaxed. Thus the blind is locked in the down position. When tension is applied to the lifting member to lift the blind, the lifting member moves the latch out of locking engagement with the end piece permitting the blind to be raised.

  • Patent number: 4200135
Abstract: The invention relates to a drive for a venetian blind, the slats of which can be raised or lowered by a lift tape and tilted by a tilting member, having a lift tape drum drivable through a drive shaft, a tilting drum serving to actuate the tilting member, a slip clutch in the path of force between the tilting drum and the drive shaft, and a bearing block which comprises two parallel bearing plates traversed by the drive shaft and between which the lift tape drum, the tilting drum and the slip clutch are axially arranged.

  • Patent number: 4194551
Abstract: There is disclosed an end piece for the bottom rail of a venetian blind which end piece is engaged by a flexible lifting member for the blind and a flexible tilting member both of which are positioned within the side housing of the blind. The flexible tilting member engages the end piece in sliding relationship such that movement of the flexible tilting member does not result in tilting of the bottom rail. Further, a portion of the end piece of the bottom rail is engaged for vertical movement in a slot in the housing in such a manner as to further insure against tilting of the bottom rail while permitting vertical adjustment thereof. The arrangements for engaging the lifting tape of the lifting member and the flexible tilting member with the end piece are such as to provide for very ready assembly while insuring against accidental disconnection.
