Abstract: According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a method for screening Diameter messages within a Diameter signaling router (DSR) having a distributed message processor architecture. The method includes steps occurring at a DSR comprising a plurality of Diameter message processors, each configured to perform at least one Diameter function. The steps include receiving, at an ingress Diameter message processor of the Diameter message processors, a Diameter message from a Diameter peer node. The steps also include identifying, at a Diameter application message processor of the Diameter message processors, a Diameter message screening rule associated with the received Diameter message. The steps further include performing, at the Diameter application message processor of the Diameter message processors, a screening function associated with the identified Diameter message screening rule on the received Diameter message.

  • Patent number: 9357372
Abstract: A method, non-transitory computer readable medium and device that determines a provider of wireless communication services includes receiving a request for wireless communication services from a computerized mobile device of a roaming user. A type of request for wireless communication services is identified. A mobile network operator is determined according to type of requested wireless communication service, location of the user, time, and availability of the requested wireless communication service. The mobile network operator is at least one of Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) or local network operator. Active elements in the determined mobile network operator are calculated. A check is made of which network elements in a home network of the user should be addressed. The home network of the user is a network of a provider of a wireless communication service where the user is registered.

  • Patent number: 9215335
Abstract: A method, non-transitory computer readable medium, and device that optimizes establishing connections to and facilitating offers of roaming services, the method includes adding, by a diameter roaming gateway controller device, a domain name of a packet data network gateway in the home network system to an update location answer received in response to an update location request from a home subscriber system in a home network system associated with a roaming mobile computing device. The update location answer is sent, by the diameter roaming gateway controller device, to a mobility management entity in a visited network. Redirect information is added, by the diameter roaming gateway controller device, to a credit control answer received from the policy charging and rules function element in the home network system in response to a credit control request message generated by a packet data network gateway in the home network system.

  • Patent number: 8902854
Abstract: According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a method for Diameter-based steering of mobile device network access. The method includes receiving a Diameter message associated with a mobile device. The method also includes determining, based on the Diameter message, whether the mobile device should be steered to access a radio access network or a radio access network type that is different from a radio access network or radio access network type currently supporting network access of the mobile device. The method further includes, in response to determining that the mobile device should access the different radio access network or radio access network type, steering the mobile device to access the different radio access network or radio access network type.
