  • Patent number: 9473644
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for hairpin condition elimination in a telecommunications network are disclosed. A method is disclosed herein for eliminating a hairpin condition at a network node. According to one method, a first and second call leg, each using packet processing resources in a bearer node, are identified; if the first and second call legs are in a hairpin condition, the first and second call legs are connected together in the bearer node in a manner that bypasses and releases packet processing resources.

  • Patent number: 8150394
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for synchronizing a subscriber profile in a plurality of domains is described. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving a profile update request message from an application server to modify an Internet protocol (IP) domain subscriber profile. The profile update request message is forwarded to a home location register (HLR). A cellular domain subscriber profile is modified in accordance with the profile update request message. Similarly, an updated subscriber profile data is received from the HLR. The updated subscriber profile data is converted in the IP domain. The converted updated subscriber profile data is sent to the application server.

  • Patent number: 8051189
Abstract: Disclosed are methods, systems, and computer program products for notifying a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) entity of a fast switchover event. According to one method a first SIP entity having an active host and a standby host is provided. At the active host a SUBSCRIBE message is received from a second SIP entity for subscribing to a fast switchover notification service. The standby host is switched to an active mode. In response to switching the standby host to active mode, a NOTIFY message is sent to the second SIP entity for notifying the second SIP entity that the standby host is operating in active mode.

  • Publication number: 20080037533
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for making call association across elements of a converged network are disclosed. A method is disclosed herein for associating independent legs of a call at a network node. According to one method, a first signaling message for setting up a first call leg is sent from a network node, the first signaling message including an identifier associated with the first call leg; a second signaling message for setting up a second call leg is received by the network node, the second signaling message including an identifier associated with the second call leg; the identifiers associated with the first and second call legs are compared, and if the values are found to have a predetermined relationship to each other, the first and second call legs are associated with each other.

  • Publication number: 20070064886
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for dynamically controlling a PSTN network element from an IP network element using signaling are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method may include receiving a first SIP message from an IP application server. The first SIP message may identify a call event trigger associated with a subscriber to a circuit switched network. In response to receiving the first SIP message, a first SS7 message identifying the call event trigger and the subscriber may be generated and routed to a circuit switched network node. A second SS7 message may be received that indicates triggering of the call event corresponding to the trigger. A second SIP message indicating the call event may be routed to the IP application server. A third SIP message may be received that specifies a PSTN call control function.
