  • Publication number: 20230106275
Abstract: A slide valve having a valve disc that is slidably movable between a fully-retracted fully-open position and a fully-extended fully-closed tight shutoff position by an actuating stem. The actuating stem is flexibly coupled to the valve disc. The valve disc is selectively modulated between the fully-extended fully-closed tight shutoff position and a partially-retracted non-tight shutoff position to prevent sticking of the valve disc in the fully-extended fully-closed tight shutoff position.

  • Patent number: 5477771
Abstract: A LDT dry well consisting of a stainless steel tube closed at one end and welded to an adapter piece on the opposite end is attached is threaded into the rear of the cylinder and the stainless steel well extends into the cylinder. Inside the tube, the LDT is mounted and threaded into the adapter on the rear of the well. The device therefore seals the LDT from the hydraulic fluid and permits the removal of the LDT from the cylinder without loss of any fluid. The cylinder can be maintained at pressure during and in operation during the replacement operation even though the feedback device is removed.

  • Patent number: 5429038
Abstract: A hydraulic cylinder bearing gland for seals hydraulic cylinder chamber having an a piston rod extending externally therefrom and includes a cylindrical sleeve with an inner bearing surface having an axial length greater than the outer diameter of the piston rod. The inner bearing surface also has a spiral, helical groove machined therein permitting fluid flow from the cylinder chamber along the length of the inner bearing surface of the bearing gland. A primary seal allows low volume flow of hydraulic fluid therethrough to prevent outside contamination from entering the cylinder chamber, while a secondary seal preventing fluid from exiting the cylinder. A port and annular groove between the primary and secondary seals return the flow of hydraulic fluid to a reservoir.
