  • Patent number: 10419744
Abstract: Techniques are directed to user profiles for viewing devices. A user profile storing one or more defined parameters may be received. The one or more defined parameters may represent viewing information. Descriptive information about the media information to be viewed on the viewing device may be received. One or more settings in a viewing device may be adjusted based on the one or more defined parameters in the user profile and the descriptive information. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20150095678
Abstract: Techniques for modifying a power state of a device are described herein. The techniques include receiving data from a sensor indicating movement of the device, and determining whether the device movement is associated with a predetermined device movement. Based on the determination, the techniques include modifying a power state of the device from either a first power state to a second power state, or from the second power state to the first power state, wherein the device consumes more power in the first power state than in the second power state.

  • Publication number: 20140094987
Abstract: An access control system allows a plurality of users various tiered levels of access to a set of vehicles, records driving information and the purposes that the vehicles are driven, and provides reports to a select subsets of users.

  • Publication number: 20110276894
Abstract: System, method, and computer program product to collect user settings regarding the quality of audiovisual (AV) content, and to change the quality of the content based on the collected settings. Users may provide input regarding tradeoffs in AV quality, such as audio quality versus video quality, or audio quality versus delay. The inputs of the users may be averaged, to generate a single input that reflects the inputs of all the users. This single input may then be used to determine one or more parameters that may be applied in defining the tradeoff(s) implemented in AV content capture, processing, or delivery.

  • Publication number: 20060092182
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention can receive a data point defining an ambient light level associated with a display and a corresponding brightness adjustment of the display with respect to a reference brightness. The embodiments can then define a brightness response model for the display based on the data point and at least one additional data point.

  • Publication number: 20050138569
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention blend frames over a specified temporal window to produce a smooth appearance at a reduced frame rate. As the window moves further or closer to the viewer, motion blur may be accomplished by temporal averaging. In particular, the temporal average is used to blend image information for a predefined/brief interval before and after the time of the output frame, retaining all of the image information, but in a slightly blurred form. After the relevant image information is retained, frames may be displayed at a reduced output rate while retaining sufficient information to reproduce a smoothly moving animation sequence.
