  • Patent number: 5259033
Abstract: A hearing aid includes a filter in an electrical feedback path, the characteristics of which filter are calculated to model acoustic coupling between the receiver and microphone of the aid. A limiter is inserted in the main electrical pathway between the microphone and the receiver to provide stability in the presence of sudden sound bursts. A noise signal is injected continuously into the electrical circuit and is used to adapt the characteristics of the filter to accommodate changes in the acoustic coupling. The level of the noise signal can be varied to match changes in residual signal level to maintain signal to noise ratio and to optimize rate of adaption commensurate with satisfactory hearing function while the noise itself is unobtrusive to the user.

  • Patent number: 5129174
Abstract: A device which can be placed on or removed from a fishing pole simply. It holds fishing line with the bail on reel open or closed until a fish strikes. Tension can be adjusted to control the amount of pull on the line needed to release the line. A signaling device is provided which will glow in the dark, so as to be used in daylight or dark, is released when the line is pulled loose, indicating the line is loose, and a fish has struck. The device comprises: a spring steel clip on the bottom of device which snaps around a pole for easy installation and easy removal from pole; a plastic pinching device to hold the line; an adjustment screw with nut; and a spring wire with plastic or teflon on one end to indicate a strike.

  • Patent number: 4990819
Abstract: A high pressure discharge lamp having a partially collapsible frame for holding an arc tube at a predetermined angle to the lamp axis and being insertable through the neck portion of a standard bulged tube outer envelope. The frame has a first frame section welded to a standard stem assembly, a second frame section rotatably joined to the first frame section for holding the arc tube, and a third frame section rotatably joined to the second frame section for engaging the outer envelope opposite the lamp cap. The frame sections are joined by rotary locking joints and are aligned such that they pivot during insertion of the frame sections when the third frame section engages the dome portion of the outer envelope. The rotary locking joints lock with the arc tube at the desired angle.

  • Patent number: 4329972
Abstract: An archery bow has a frame rearwardly extending mounted on the bow. The frame is adjustable to meet the requirements of the arm length of the user. The frame is generally U-shaped having first and second mounting points on the bow above and below the point at which the forward hand supports the bow and where the forward portion of the arrow rests. The rearward portion of the frame rests against the user's chest or shoulder or whatever other part of the user's body which the user chooses to employ as a rear anchor point. An adjustable bar is moveably mounted on the frame member being slideably mounted having holes in the upper and lower portion of the adjustable bar so that it may be moved along the arms of the frame. Structure for fixing the adjustable bar in a desired location on the frame is included. Such structure may be set screws or the like. The adjustable bar includes a hand grip for the rear hand of the user and an arrow stop for precisely positioning the arrow in a repeatable manner.
