Abstract: An improved ventilation device that can be inserted into the mouth of a patient to provide an airway through the oral pharyngeal cavity includes: (a) a mouthpiece having an interior portion that is bounded by top and bottom surfaces, outer and inner semi-elliptically-shaped perimeter surfaces and two end surfaces, wherein: (a1) each of these end surfaces is oriented approximately parallel to the minor axes of the perimeter surfaces, (a2) the outer perimeter surface has a front portion proximate the point where it is intersected by its major axis, (b) top and bottom recesses in the mouthpiece's respective top and bottom surfaces that each are configured to accommodate a patient's respective upper and lower teeth, and (c) an airflow passageway through the mouthpiece's interior portion.

Abstract: A multi-purpose securement strip for anchoring tubing, monitor lines and the like on a body portion of a patient. The securement strip comprises an elongated base strip of flexible material having on its underside an adhesive coating for attachment of the base strip to the patient's skin. An elongated, flexible cover strip is provided, having a first portion (including an end of the cover strip) permanently affixed to the upper surface of the base strip. The cover strip has a second portion releasably adherable to the upper surface of the base strip such that one or more tubes, monitor lines or the like can be so located as to overlie the upper surface of the base strip, transversely of the long axis of the base strip, and can be adjustably and releasably held in position on the base strip by the second portion of the flexible cover strip.

Abstract: A dressing device for securing on a body portion of a patient an infusion needle or catheter and a safety loop of the tubing associated therewith. The dressing device comprises a base strip of flexible material having an adhesive coating on its underside for attachment to the patient's skin and a gauze pad extending transversely of its central portion for direct contact with the puncture site. The base strip has a central longitudinal slit formed therein extending from an end edge of the base strip approximately to the middle thereof and terminating in a flap forming portion. That portion of the slit overlying the gauze pad, including the flap forming portion, extends through the gauze pad as well. The slit enables placement of the dressing device about the infusion needle or catheter with the flap forming portion located at the puncture site. A flexible cover strip has a first portion affixed to the upper surface of the base strip and a second portion covering the slit in the base strip.
