  • Patent number: 11957960
Abstract: A method is disclosed for using an artificial intelligence engine to modify resistance of one or more pedals of an exercise device. The method includes generating, by the artificial intelligence engine, a machine learning model trained to receive one or more measurements as input, and outputting, based on the one or more measurements, a control instruction that causes the exercise device to modify the resistance of the one or more pedals. The method includes receiving the one or more measurements from a sensor associated with the one or more pedals of the exercise device, determining whether the one or more measurements satisfy a trigger condition, and responsive to determining that the one or more measurements satisfy the trigger condition, transmitting the control instruction to the exercise device.

  • Patent number: 11951359
Abstract: A method is disclosed for using an artificial intelligence engine to modify resistance of pedals of an exercise device. The method includes generating, by the artificial intelligence engine, a machine learning model trained to receive measurements as input, and outputting, based on the measurements, a control instruction that causes the exercise device to modify, independently from each other, the resistance of the pedals. While a user performs an exercise using the exercise device, the method includes receiving the measurements from sensors associated with the pedals. The method includes determining, based on the measurements, a quantifiable or qualitative modification to the resistance provided by a pedal of the pedals. The resistance provided by another pedal of the pedals is not modified. The method includes transmitting the control instruction to the exercise device to cause the resistance provided by the pedal to be modified.

  • Patent number: 9506190
Abstract: Whitewater recovery processes, and associated systems and components, are generally described. Certain embodiments relate to whitewater recovery processes in which ion exchange is used to remove dissolved ions from the whitewater, which can reduce the degree to which chemical additives are used in the process. • Patent number: 9484973
Abstract: A switch branch that improves voltage uniformity across a series stack of an n-number of transistors is disclosed. A first one of the n-number of transistors is coupled to an input terminal, and an nth one of the n-number of transistors is coupled to an output terminal, where n is a positive integer greater than one. Predetermined parasitic capacitances associated with each of the n-number of transistors are adjustable with respect to capacitance value by predetermined amounts by dimensioning and arranging at least one metal layer element in proximity to the series stack of the n-number of transistors. Capacitance values for the predetermined parasitic capacitances are selected such that a voltage across the series stack of the n-number of transistors is uniformly distributed. In this way, the n-number of transistors can be reduced without risking a transistor breakdown within the series stack of the n-number of transistors.

  • Patent number: 9356144
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to gate oxide protection circuits, which are used to protect the gate oxides of field effect transistor (FET) elements from over voltage conditions, particularly during situations in which the gate oxides are particularly vulnerable, such as during certain manufacturing stages. Each gate oxide protection circuit may be coupled to a corresponding FET element through corresponding first and second resistive elements, which are coupled to a corresponding gate connection node and a corresponding first connection node, respectively, of the FET element. The gate connection node and the first connection node are electrically adjacent to opposite sides of the gate oxide of the FET element. Each gate oxide protection circuit may protect its corresponding FET element by limiting a voltage between the gate connection node and the first connection node.

  • Patent number: 8723260
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a radio frequency (RF) switch that includes multiple body-contacted field effect transistor (FET) elements coupled in series. The FET elements may be formed using a thin-film semiconductor device layer, which is part of a thin-film semiconductor die. Conduction paths between the FET elements through the thin-film semiconductor device layer and through a substrate of the thin-film semiconductor die may be substantially eliminated by using insulating materials. Elimination of the conduction paths allows an RF signal across the RF switch to be divided across the series coupled FET elements, such that each FET element is subjected to only a portion of the RF signal. Further, each FET element is body-contacted and may receive reverse body biasing when the RF switch is in an OFF state, thereby reducing an OFF state drain-to-source capacitance of each FET element.

  • Patent number: 7270796
Abstract: In one embodiment, an ammonium removal method can comprise: removing a multivalent cation from a stream comprising ammonium to form a treated stream; converting the ammonium in the stream to ammonia by increasing the pH of the stream; and separating the ammonia from the treated stream to form a separated stream and gaseous ammonia. In another embodiment, an ammonium removal method can comprise: a multivalent cation from a stream comprising ammonium to form a treated stream comprising a total of less than or equal to about 50 ppm by weight of multivalent cations; increasing the pH of the stream to a conversion pH; converting the ammonium to ammonia; and separating the ammonia from the treated stream to form a separated stream and gaseous ammonia.

  • Publication number: 20060267621
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining whether an integrated circuit has been subjected to stress conditions during operation. The integrated circuit comprises a test device that is exposed to the same power supply voltage and temperature as other devices in the integrated circuit. Certain expected operating parameters, as a function of the operating life of the integrated circuit, are predetermined. If a measured value of the operating parameter exceeds the expected value then the integrated circuit has been subjected to stress conditions.

  • Publication number: 20050111155
Abstract: It is possible to predict with acceptable accuracy the time to failure of a device having a thin gate dielectric in a field effect transistor. Such prediction is based on the realization that for such thin dielectric multiple dielectric breakdown occurs before device failure ensues and that measurement of the device quiescent current flow provides the information necessary for such prediction. The ability to make reliable prediction allows improvement of device design, manufacture, and use.

  • Patent number: 5892507
Abstract: A computer system, having a graphical user interface for authoring and playing a multimedia presentation having one or more multimedia events, displays a representation of a story, including a representation of a start position, indicating the beginning of the multimedia presentation, a representation of an end position, indicating the end of the multimedia presentation, and a representation of a unidirectional path line connecting the start position and the end positions. The representation of at least one icon, associated with a source of multimedia material, may be linked to the path line. The link, called a call spot, represents a call to the multimedia, allowing icons to be shared by many presentations or to be shown at different times in the same presentation. The multimedia presentation starts at the start position, plays the multimedia material represented by the at least one icon, and then continues along the unidirectional path line and completes at the end position.

  • Patent number: 5852435
Abstract: A digital multimedia newsroom production system allows users of the system to create, browse and catalog multimedia assets. The system includes a journalist workstation for accessing multimedia assets stored in a multimedia archive to create a multimedia storyboard of a news story to be broadcast from the system. The storyboard includes frames of video retrieved from one or more sources, and text retrieved from one or more sources or generated by a user of the journalist workstation. In one embodiment of the invention, multimedia data captured by the newsroom production system undergoes a dual digitization process to create a high resolution version of the media data and a low resolution version of the media data. The low resolution version of the media data can be efficiently stored in the system and may be transmitted over a low-bandwidth network to the journalist workstation for use in the creation of a storyboard.
