  • Patent number: 5786600
Abstract: (Barium hafnate:Ti,Ce,Pb) phosphors, phosphor screens and phosphor preparation method. The phosphor screen includes a support and a luminescent portion. The phosphor includes oxygen and a combination of species characterized by the relationship:(Ba.sub.1-d M.sub.d)(Hf.sub.1-z-e Zr.sub.z Mg.sub.e):yCe,y'Ti,y"Pbwhere M is selected from the group consisting of Ca, and Sr, and combinations thereof; d is from 0 to 0.05; z is from 0 to 0.25; e is from 0 to 0.15; y is from 0 to 0.025; y' is from 0 to 0.05; y" is from 0 to 0.01; and y+y'+y" is from 1.times.10.sup.-6 to 0.05. The phosphor is x-ray luminescent at a temperature of 300.degree. K.

  • Patent number: 5646412
Abstract: A radiographic phosphor panel and radiographic phosphor composition. The radiographic phosphor panel includes a support and a luminescent layer. The luminescent layer overlies the support. The luminescent layer includes binder and coated particles. The binder is a film-forming polymer. The coated particles are embedded in the binder. The coated particles each have a core and a shell. The core is radiographic phosphor. The shell is exterior to and substantially encloses the core. The shell comprises vinyl-epoxy resin, having uncured epoxy groups in a concentration of from about 1.times.10.sup.-5 to about 60 percent by weight relative to the weight of the shell. The resin has a different composition than the binder.

  • Patent number: 5641967
Abstract: A radiographic phosphor panel having oxosulfur functionalized polymer reducing agents. The phosphor panel has a support and a luminescent layer overlaying the support. The luminescent layer includes phosphor crystals, and binder. The oxosulfur functionalized polymer reducing agent is present in a concentration sufficient to substantially increase the photostimulated luminescence of the panel.

  • Patent number: 5641583
Abstract: A radiographic phosphor panel having both binder compatible oxosulfur reducing agent and oxosulfur reducing pigment, and a preparation method. The radiographic phosphor panel has a support and a luminescent layer overlaying the support. The luminescent layer includes phosphor crystals, binder, oxosulfur reducing agent, and oxosulfur reducing pigment. The phosphor crystals include iodine. The oxosulfur reducing agent is dispersed within the luminescent layer on a substantially molecular basis. The oxosulfur reducing pigment is dispersed within the layer as a particulate. The oxosulfur reducing agent and the oxosulfur reducing pigment are each a reducing agent for iodine. The oxosulfur reducing agent and the oxosulfur reducing pigment have a combined concentration sufficient to substantially increase the photostimulated luminescence of the panel.
