    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for the preparation of a stable solution of aluminum citrate. The method involves combining a solution of aluminum chloride with a solution of citric acid while maintaining vigorous agitation. After formation of the aluminum citrate solution, sufficient alkali metal or ammonium hydroxide is added to increase the pH to a level of 5.5 to 7.5. During addition of the base, the agitation is continued and the temperature of the solution is maintained at a level of from 20.degree. C. to 90.degree. C.
