  • Patent number: 10247171
Abstract: A system and method for simultaneously coordinating a wake control system and a noise control system of a wind farm having a plurality of wind turbines is disclosed. The method includes determining, via a farm controller, one or more wake control set points for the wake control system. Further, the method includes determining, via the farm controller, one or more noise control set points for the noise control system. The method also includes selecting, via the farm controller, between the wake control set points and the noise control set points for each of the plurality of wind turbines. Thus, the method also includes sending, via the farm controller, the selected control set points to local controllers of the plurality of wind turbines and operating the wind farm based on the selected control set points.

  • Publication number: 20190072068
Abstract: A method for mitigating noise during high wind speed conditions of a wind turbine includes providing a backward twist to the outboard region of the rotor blade having an angle of less than 6°. The method may also include reducing a tip chord taper within at least a portion of the outboard region of the rotor blade. Further, the method may include increasing a local tip chord length of the rotor blade. In addition, the method may include increasing a torsional stiffness of the outboard region of the rotor blade. As such, a combination of one or more of the blade properties described above are configured to reduce noise associated with high wind speed conditions.

  • Patent number: 8457772
Abstract: Presented herein are methods and devices for designing dental components, such as physical models of a patient's anatomy, crowns and bridges. An operator of a prosthetic designing system can receive information, such as from a scanner, which provides information on the topology of the patient's dentition. The operator can use this information to design a custom prosthetic to fit the patient. Part of the designing process involves using a finish line defined for a preparation as a segmentation line for a physical die corresponding to the preparation, and using a path of draw line as an insertion axis line for a dental prosthetic.
