  • Patent number: 6847158
Abstract: An electron gun for a cathode-ray tube comprises a dish-shaped control electrode. The electrode is made from three separate components: a substantially plane component drilled with apertures so as to allow the passage of electron beams, and two identically shaped components intended to make a skirt, serving as support for the cathode modules. The three components are welded together. This structure allows the construction of a control electrode serving as support for cathode modules by virtue of inexpensive components that are simple to manufacture.

  • Patent number: 5808969
Abstract: A process and device for detecting objects, in particular mines, dispersed in an area of land. The process implements a plurality of acoustic transducers. After determination of an optimal operational frequency, a brief acoustic pulse is emitted into the ground and then successive temporal reversals of signals received by the transducers focus detection on a first object. At least two transducers for which the propagation times are roughly equal are located and at least one location direction, defined as the mean perpendicular of the segment joining the at least two transducers, is determined.

  • Patent number: 5615174
Abstract: A process and a device for detecting objects, in particular mines, dispersed in an area of land, or for determining propagation characteristics of an acoustic wave in the ground of an area of land. This process employs a plurality of acoustic transducers and reference targets distributed along borders of the area. After determining an optimal working frequency, a cartography of the propagation characteristics in the ground of the area of land is made, for example, by carrying out several temporal reversals, one after the other, of the signals received by the transducers so as to focus detection on the different reference targets. Objects are detected with the aid of this cartography by focusing detection by temporal reversal on an object and by searching for at least two transducers which have the lowest propagation time for the signal.

  • Patent number: 5458063
Abstract: An apparatus for activating a magnetic influenced mine from a distance includes a circuit arrangement for conserving power use and simulating the magnetic signature of a vehicle. The circuit arrangement includes a magnetic field generating coil connected to an electric feed circuit. The electric feed circuit is comprised of a voltage source, a circuit breaking element, and at least one capacitor connected to the terminals of the magnetic field generating coil. The circuit breaking element operates to alternately connect and disconnect the set of capacitors from the voltage source. By oscillating the current to the magnetic generating coil, the magnetic signature of a vehicle is simulated, and a mine is fooled into activation.

  • Patent number: 5103734
Abstract: The invention concerns a guided munition, fired from a launching system with a cannon effect. This munition comprising sub-assemblies is supported, during acceleration in the cannon, by a peripheral casing which rests on the first sub-assembly of the munition placed at the front of the munition and is fixed to an ejectable sub-assembly placed at the rear of the munition. The weight of this casing is necessary to withstand the forces due to acceleration and it enables the range of the munition to be increased during the ballistic phase. During the transition from the ballistic phase to the guided phase, the ejectable sub-assembly is ejected, taking with it the casing which thus frees the airfoil surfaces to open out. The casing thus positioned also provides sealing and protection of the sensitive parts and rigidity of the whole of the munition.

  • Patent number: 4901946
Abstract: A system is provided for guidance, by laser beam and pyrotechnic thrusters, of one or a number of carriers such as missiles which are intended to intercept maneuvering targets such as aircraft, helicopters or tanks. Guidance of the carrier is performed partly from the ground by means of a laser beam (beam-rider guidance) which tracks the target and partly by means of pyrotechnic thrusters placed on board the carrier. At each instant, the carrier thus "knows" its position with respect to the ideal flight path provided by the laser beam. The carrier corrects its flight path by triggering a pyrotechnic thruster when its distance with respect to the ideal flight path is greater than a predefined threshold value and when its radial velocity to the ideal path is lower than a predefined threshold.
