  • Patent number: 8725473
Abstract: A method implemented by computer means, for optimizing the settings of an ophthalmic system comprising an ophthalmic lens arranged to be fitted in a spectacle frame according to a given wearer, the method comprising the steps of: providing to the computer means wearer, frame and lens data comprising a 3D representation of the, respectively wearer's face, frame and lens, generating positioning data based on the wearer, frame and lens data, said positioning data comprising the respective position of the wearer face with respect to the spectacle frame associated with the ophthalmic lens, and upon a modification request, modifying the settings of the ophthalmic lens to be manufactured and fitted in the spectacle frame, so as to modify the positioning data.

  • Patent number: 8700196
Abstract: A method for providing finishing parameters related to an ophthalmic lens adapted to a spectacle frame in which generic finishing parameters (GFP) are provided (S11) for an ophthalmic lens adapted to a spectacle frame, the generic finishing parameters (GFP) being associated to a first identifier (ID1); a request (REQ1) is received (S12) from a distant entity, indicating an association between the first identifier (ID1) and a second identifier (ID2) assigned to the chosen finishing entity (CFE); specific finishing parameters (SFP) specific to the chosen finishing entity are generated (S13), the specific finishing parameters (SFP) being obtained by associating the generic finishing parameters (GFP) with specific parameters corresponding to the chosen finishing entity (CFE); a second request (REQ2) associated with at least the first identifier (ID1) is received (S14); and, upon receipt of the second request (REQ2), the specific finishing parameters (SFP) are sent (S15) to the chosen finishing entity (CFE).

  • Publication number: 20100293251
Abstract: A method and a computer system and its components for providing a spectacle frame adapted to a future wearer. The method comprises the steps of storing in a memory of a server (SER) a first set of data (F1) related to measurements performed on the wearer, in correspondence to a first identifier (ID1), and storing in the memory of said server (SER) a second set of data (F2) related to measurements performed on the frame to provide, in correspondence to a second identifier (ID2). The server (SER), upon reception of a piece of information (DOC2) indicating an association between the first and second identifiers, is arranged for compiling a computer document (ORD(ID1-ID2)) including at least a part of the first and second sets of data for enabling the edition of an order form.

  • Patent number: 5881467
Abstract: In a method of reading off the cross-section of the bezel of an eyeglass frame rim or surround at one point at least on the latter, a mobile feeler the position of which can be defined in a given system of coordinates is moved into line with the bezel. The head of the feeler successively sights at least two different points of at least one of the flanks of the bezel in order to deduce the coordinates of these points. The cross-section of the bezel read off in this way is used in trimming the lens to be mounted in the bezel.

  • Patent number: 5660578
Abstract: To determine the reproduction error of a trimming machine associated with a contour follower device, a first reading is taken on the contour follower device from a template of known shape. A part is then machined on the trimming machine in accordance with the first reading. A second reading is taken on the contour follower device using the machined part. The reproduction error is deduced from the two readings by calculation. The method can be applied to autocalibration of a system comprising a trimming machine and a contour follower device associated with each other by way of a numerical controller, in particular for machining an eyeglass lens.

  • Patent number: 5209026
Abstract: A device for fastening a holding part on an eyeglass frame placed on a plate comprises an arm adapted to receive removably the holding part and a carriage on which the arm pivots between a raised loading end position and a lowered fitting end position. The carriage is mobile on a frame in a straight line between a retracted rest end position and an advanced end of travel position. A transmission system operative between a drive system and either the arm or the carriage is such that, at least when the carriage is in the vicinity of its advanced end of travel position, the arm is in its retracted fitting position. A locking device is operative between the arm and the carriage to lock the arm releasably to the carriage when in its lowered rest position.
