An opposed end of the support arm is pivotally connected to the lower backrest member at a first location spaced from the upper backrest member. A rear end of the seat pan frame is pivotally connected to the lower backrest member at a second location between the first location and the upper backrest member. The backrest frame and seat pan frame are configured to move simultaneously between a sitting configuration and a reclined configuration through pivoting motion about the fixed pivots and about the two locations.

The lounge chair is adjustable between a first configuration defining a first seating arrangement and a second configuration defining a second seating arrangement. Also disclosed is a mechanism to facilitate the adjustment of the lounge chair.

Abstract: An aircraft is disclosed with an aircraft divan that comprises a back rest, an upright side rest extending from the back rest and forming a side of the aircraft divan, and a seat rest having a first seat section connected to the back rest and a second seat section displaceable translationally relative to the first seat section between a first position and a second position, a gap defined between the first seat section and the second seat section in the first position to receive therein legs of a seated occupant between the first and second seat sections, and the first and second seat sections being adjacent one another to close the gap and form an elongated sitting surface in the second position. A method of adjusting such aircraft divan is also provided.

A front support member defines a frontmost portion of the support structure, and has a top end connected to a front end of the seat pan frame and a bottom end connected to the bottom support. The front end of the seat pan frame is forwardly offset from a front end of the bottom support and the top end of the front support member is forwardly offset from its bottom end such that an empty space is defined across a width of the seat between the seat pan frame and the floor, forwardly of the support structure, forwardly of the bottom support, and rearwardly of a vertical plane aligned with the front end of the seat pan frame.

The headrest includes a displacement member mountable to the backrest frame to position a lower end of the displacement member in front of the backrest frame and above the base. The displacement member is displaceable relative to the backrest frame to adjust a height of the headrest. A tilt member extends between a pivot end pivotably mounted to the displacement member at a joint, and a head support end disposed above the pivot end to support a rear portion of the head. The joint defines a pivot axis and is positioned in front of the backrest frame and above the base. The tilt member is pivotable about the pivot axis to displace the head support end toward and away from the displacement member.

The seat also includes a first control to lock and unlock movement of the seat in lateral or longitudinal directions and a second control to lock and unlock the swivel. The swivel may be unlocked while movement of the seat in the lateral and the longitudinal direction is locked.
