  • Patent number: 8588608
Abstract: A method is provided for managing connections in an optical access network. Also provided are a corresponding platform, exchange, network and computer software product. The method manages connections of a plurality of user modules to a plurality of transmission modules of an exchange in an optical access network. The management method includes a dynamic re-arrangement of the connection of at least one of the user modules to at least one of the transmission modules according to at least one predetermined optimization criterion.

Date of Patent: November 19, 2013
    Assignee: France Telecom
Inventors: Philippe Guignard, Roman Glatty, Fabrice Bourgart
  • Patent number: 8050565
Abstract: A multiservice private network and interface modules (M1-M5). Each of said modules is dedicated to interfacing a specific terminal equipment (T1-T4, GTW; 310-380) in the multiservice private network. The interface modules (M1-M5) are connected to the terminal equipment on a one-to-one basis. Each interface module (M1-M5) is configured to send and/or receive data in a format adapted to the terminal equipment to which it is connected, at a specific wavelength, in order to interconnect, via said private network, at least two mutually compatible terminal equipments among all the terminal equipments. This arrangement is typically applicable in particular to interconnecting, via a common network, heterogeneous different terminal equipments, so that the mutually compatible terminals communicate directly with one another without interfering with communication between other terminals of a different type.

  • Patent number: 5432628
Abstract: According to the present invention, an optical communications network is provided, which network comprises control means for controlling the network and a plurality of stations each having an information emitter and receiver. The stations are interconnected by optical signal transmission supports and the control means. According to the present invention, main delays of the stations are controllably modifiable, as desired, by the control means. Particular utility is found in the area of private communications networks, although other utilities are contemplated.

  • Patent number: 5245681
Abstract: A wavelength multiplexing device comprising a switching matrix (18) of the N to 1 type, which has several successive stages (18a,18b) of controllable optical couplers (20) interconnected to form a tree structure and modulating means (24) connected to the output of the switching matrix (18). The device further has N sources (10,12,14,16) each emitting a continuous light beam having a particular wavelength to an input of the matrix, and a control circuit (22) connected to the couplers and controlling the latter so as to select P wavelengths from among the N available wavelengths. The device allows efficient transmission of data through an optical network.
