  • Patent number: 11991157
Abstract: A server establishes a secure session with a client device where a private key used in the handshake is stored in a different server. An encrypted connection is established between the first server and the second server. A message is received from the client device that initiates a procedure to establish the secure session between the client device and the first server. As part of this procedure, the first server transmits over the encrypted connection a request to the second server to use the private key. The first server receives, over the encrypted connection, a response to the request that includes a result of the use of the private key. The first server uses the result during the procedure to establish the secure session.

  • Publication number: 20240108078
Abstract: An aerosol delivery device is provided that includes a user interface including a pushbutton and a display. A control component contained coupled to the user interface controls operation of at least one functional element of the aerosol delivery device. The control component controls the display to present a menu including a plurality of menu items selectable using only the pushbutton. Each menu item of the plurality of menu items is associated with a respective functional element of the aerosol delivery device, and the control component is configured to navigate the plurality of menu items, and select a currently-presented menu item of the plurality of menu items for control of the respective functional element, in response to respective first and second types of presses of the pushbutton, the first and second types of presses being of different durations.

  • Publication number: 20240108076
Abstract: Smoking articles, and methods for forming such smoking articles, such as an electronic smoking article, are provided. An exemplary smoking article comprises a control body portion having a control body engagement end, and having a first control component therein. A cartridge body portion includes a cartridge body engagement end configured to removably engage the control body engagement end of the control body portion. The cartridge body portion further includes a consumable arrangement comprising at least an aerosol precursor composition and at least one heating element operably engaged therewith, and a second control component. At least the consumable arrangement is configured to be in communication with the first control component upon engagement between the cartridge body and control body portions.

  • Publication number: 20240096316
Abstract: A speech-processing system may provide access to one or more virtual assistants via an audio-controlled device. A multi-agent component of a device may be used to coordinate control of device process(es) regardless of the invoked agent and without necessarily sharing information between agents and corresponding speech-processing system(s). Device-state information may be sent from the multi-agent component to a speech-processing system to interpret a user command. If the command relates to a device process control it may be routed to a device skill and to the multi-agent component of the device. The multi-agent component may track a device state and may inform a particular speech-processing system if a process related to the particular speech-processing system has been controlled.

  • Patent number: 11566775
Abstract: At least two lighting modules are disposed on a printed circuit board (PCB). Each of the lighting modules includes a plurality of light emitting diode (LED) chips disposed in a non-rectangular array. Lenses are provided over the lighting modules. Each lens has a convex outer surface, and a chamber with a planar or concave inner surface facing a corresponding lighting module and disposed to cover the LED set within the chamber. A light projecting device includes a plurality of LED sets and a plurality of lenses. An orientation part couples each lighting module to the PCB at a non-zero angle.

  • Patent number: 6130639
Abstract: A process for modelling of ground clutter received by a radar, starting from a meshed numerical terrain model, including identifying cells from the meshed numerical terrain model which comprise elements having a height greater than a resolution of the model; determining, for relevant cells, an average height of the elements; sectioning the relevant cells into height-wise slices; and calculating power backscattered by each of the relevant cells by representing contents thereof with elementary reflectors distributed over an entire height thereof as a function of adjoining cells and a profile of terrain situated between the radar and a relevant cell.

  • Patent number: 5904721
Abstract: A prosthetic component with a pneumatic device for knee articulation formed of an upper part adapted to support a socket element for a stump of a thigh, and a lower part intended to receive a tube extended by an ankle and foot. The two parts are connected to each other by an assembly of pivoted links forming a deformable prism. Movement of the two parts between two stable positions of complete extension and flexure, about the variable axis of rotation defined by these connections, is controlled by a pneumatic cylinder having an upper chamber and a lower chamber separated by a piston and communicating with each other by an air duct with adjustable flow. In each of the stable positions, the pressure of air in the chambers is greater than 1 bar and is preferably between 4 and 7 bar.

  • Patent number: 5747768
Abstract: Device for guiding and feeding at least two sheet blanks previously brought edge to edge to form a joint plane, of the type including two units for supporting and feeding the sheet blanks in the direction of a high energy density beam disposed on each side of the joint plane and movable in synchronism with each other. Each supporting and feeding unit includes at least one lower series of carriages or at least one upper series of carriages, these carriages being articulated together in a vertical plane and movable in a direction parallel to the joint plane on a runway constituting a reference plane. Each carriage carries at least one shoe movable relative to the respective carriage in a direction perpendicular to the joint plane. The shoes of at least one of the two series of carriages cooperate with a device exerting a lateral pressure on the edges to be welded of the sheet blanks by a displacement of the shoes in a direction perpendicular to the joint plane.
