    Abstract: An improved high yield process and apparatus for producing sodium hydrosulfite by reacting sodium borohydride, sulfur dioxide, sodium hydroxide and sodium bisulfite is disclosed. A continuously recirculating split process stream may be used along with control of pH, temperatures, and concentration parameters to obtain sodium hydrosulfite yields in excess of 85%.
