Abstract: A method for managing data in a collaborative service-oriented workshop, which is adapted to treat objects associated with data representative of real or process data, is provided to share data and resources in an architecture of a workspace. The architecture is adapted to design complex objects and manipulate information technology objects that represent data, which may be representative of a real object or a process based on metadata representing characteristic data. The metadata includes a generic part that is common to all data, a specific part that is inherent to the type of data, and links to other objects. The links make it possible to establish, at a later time, the traceability of the data, or in other words the traceability between the different data produced or used during execution of processes.

Abstract: A method for data management in a collaborative service-oriented workshop for processing objects associated with data representing real data or processes. After accessing at least one datum representing real data or processes stored in a remote device, at least one characteristic piece of information is extracted from the at least one datum according to a predetermined parameter. Abstract: Carbon steel wire, which has been maintained at a temperature above the Ac3 ransformation temperature, is heat-treated to obtain a fine pearlitic structure by passing it through a tube containing a gas practically without forced ventilation and surrounded by a heat-exchange fluid. Certain relationships between the diameter of the wire, the diameter of the tube and the conductivity of the gas are to be satisfied to ensure cooling of the wire to a temperature below the Acl transformation temperature in a time prior to the time of the pearlitic nose and to effect pearlitization to completion under a nearly isothermal state.

Abstract: Apparatus for checking the profile of a sheet and comparing measured data with that data from measurement of a standard. The apparatus includes a frame, a plurality of studs on the frame providing three support locations for the sheet, a plurality of reference stops spaced along two adjacent sides of the frame and structure along opposite sides for moving a sheet into a centered position at the stops and measuring structure for measuring the profile of the sheet at a centered position. The sheet may be held at the centered position to immobilize it during measurement and the apparatus may be located along a production line including structure for moving a sheet to the frame and removing the sheet from the frame.

Abstract: Installation for manufacturing wire by projecting a jet of electrically conductive metallic liquid through a die into a cooling medium, comprising a crucible equipped with a heating device, a die and an enclosure containing a gas under pressure, an enclosure containing a cooling medium and a wire-receiving device is improved by providing the installation with a thermally and electrically conductive immobile hot piece arranged in such a manner as to debouch into the section of a crucible passageway which is wetted by the metallic liquid, occupies that section and is in contact with a cooling element and with one of the poles of a source of electric current, while an electrically conductive cold piece is connected to the other pole of the source of electric current and assures electrical contact with the jet or the wire.

Abstract: A process for the manufacture of filiform reinforcement elements of steel in the form of ribbons is improved by projecting a jet of liquid steel onto a cylinder rotating in a cooling medium and imparting a relative reciprocating movement parallel to the axis of rotation of the cylinder between the jet of liquid steel and the cylinder in order to undulate the ribbon in the direction parallel to the axis of rotation of the cylinder.

Abstract: A reactive cooling medium for apparatus for the manufacture of wire by projecting a jet of liquid steel which contains silicon and manganese through a nozzle into a cooling enclosure containing the reactive cooling medium is characterized by the fact that the reactive cooling medium is a gaseous mixture having an oxidizing power with respect to the steel, at least in the zone adjacent to the orifice of the nozzle, such that the oxidation product of the steel is silica at the thermochemical equilibrium corresponding to the temperature prevailing near the orifice of the nozzle.
