Patent number: 12005113Abstract: The present invention is directed to novel nucleotide and amino acid sequences of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (“PEDV”), including novel genotypes thereof, all of which are useful in the preparation of vaccines for treating and preventing diseases in swine and other animals. Vaccines provided according to the practice of the invention are effective against multiple swine PEDV genotypes and isolates. Diagnostic and therapeutic polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies are also a feature of the present invention, as are infectious clones useful in the propagation of the virus and in the preparation of vaccines. Particularly important aspects of the invention include polynucleotide constructs that replicate in tissue culture and in host swine. The invention also provides for novel full length PEDV genomes that can replicate efficiently in host animals and tissue culture.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2020Date of Patent: June 11, 2024Assignees: Zoetis Services LLC, Iowa State University Research Foundation, Inc.Inventors: Jianqiang Zhang, Qi Chen, Phillip Gauger, Darin Madson, John Morgan Hardham, Meggan Bandrick, Jay Gregory Calvert, James Richard Thompson, Mira Ivanova Stoeva, Walter Valdez

Publication number: 20240151125Abstract: A system for treating a plurality of adjacent wells having casing includes a wireline, perforating equipment, and a fiber-optic interrogator. The wireline has at least one optical fiber disposed along its length. At least one optical fiber is configured as a distributed acoustic sensor. The perforating equipment includes a perforating gun that can couple to a termination of the wireline. Run downhole on the wireline, the perforating gun can perforate the casing. The fiber-optic interrogator is configured to couple to another termination of the wireline. The fiber-optic interrogator is configured to interrogate the at least one optical fiber for distributed acoustic sensing. The wireline deployed in a well with the perforating gun can remain in the well, while an adjacent well is stimulated to produce hydraulic fracture. During the stimulation, the fiber-optic wireline is used for distributed acoustic sensing during the fracture operation of the adjacent well.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 1, 2023Publication date: May 9, 2024Applicant: Borehole Seismic, LLC.Inventors: Aaron Janssen, Phillip Chen, Robinson Butler Howell

Publication number: 20230308508Abstract: A computer-implemented method comprises detecting, by a processor of a first host of one or more hosts in a distributed computing environment, a distributed task waiting to be started, from a replicated configuration system, the distributed task being represented by a pending tasks key. The method comprises starting, by the processor, the distributed task by performing an atomic compare and swap operation to add a started key to the replicated configuration system. The method also comprises writing a specification of the distributed task to the replicated configuration system under a new version of a current tasks key. In addition, the method comprises removing, following the writing, the pending tasks key from the replicated configuration system.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 31, 2023Publication date: September 28, 2023Inventors: Greg DeArment, Mark Elliot, Jonathon Yu, Jon Paek, Phillip Chen, Brian Toth, David Tolnay, Daniel Rothfus, Bradley Moylan

Patent number: 10052254Abstract: Apparatus and method using two couplings connecting a wheelchair to a walker for safely assisting a patient regaining their ability to walk. Physical therapists use the walker to train patients on walking to build strength, endurance, and balance. The couplings provide a fixed gap between the wheelchair and walker and keeps the wheelchair close to the patient. The patient can easily sit in the wheelchair, and the presence of the wheelchair minimizes the risk of falling, allows the patient to rest when fatigued, provides a sense of security, and eliminates a need for an assistance to push the wheelchair behind the patient.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2017Date of Patent: August 21, 2018Inventor: Phillip Chen

Publication number: 20180039399Abstract: The systems and methods described herein provide highly dynamic and interactive data analysis user interfaces which enable data analysts to quickly and efficiently explore large volume data sources. The data analysis system enables the user to investigate large volumes of data over many different paths of analysis while maintaining detailed and retraceable steps taken by the user over the course of an investigation, as captured via the user's queries and user interaction with the user interfaces provided by the data analysis system. Data analysis paths may involve exploration of high volume data sets, such as Internet proxy data, which may include trillions of rows of data. The data analyst may pursue a data analysis path that involves, among other things, applying filters, joining to other tables in a database, viewing interactive data visualizations, and so on. The data analysis system enables a user to refresh or insert a node in a workflow.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 13, 2017Publication date: February 8, 2018Inventors: Helen Kaltegaertner, Alexandru Antihi, Brandon Krieger, Caitlin Colgrove, Diran Li, Gabrielle Javitt, Gregory O'Connor, Mark Schafer, Mark Elliot, Maria Franco, Matthew Lynch, Punyashloka Biswal, Phillip Chen, Sander Kromwijk, Shannon Scott, Stephanie Yu, Walker Burgin

Patent number: 6846424Abstract: A process for removing and/or dry etching noble metal-based material structures, e.g., iridium for electrode formation for a microelectronic device. Etch species are provided by plasma formation involving energization of one or more halogenated organic and/or inorganic substance, and the etchant medium including such etch species and oxidizing gas is contacted with the noble metal-based material under etching conditions. The plasma formation and the contacting of the plasma with the noble metal-based material can be carried out in a downstream microwave processing system to provide processing suitable for high-rate fabrication of microelectronic devices and precursor structures in which the noble metal forms an electrode, or other conductive element or feature of the product article.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 2001Date of Patent: January 25, 2005Assignee: Advanced Technology Materials, Inc.Inventors: Thomas H. Baum, Phillip Chen, Frank DiMeo, Jr., Peter C. Van Buskirk, Peter S. Kirlin
