Publication number: 20040045568Abstract: A dual manicure and pedicure support apparatus for supporting a user's hand or foot to facilitate care of fingernails or toenails. In one embodiment, a body member includes a generally planar base, an upper work surface, and a front work surface sloped for receiving a hand or a foot thereon. The body member includes a generally trapezoidal side-profile and is composed of flexible material. The upper work surface includes a plurality of holes and slots for storage of items utilized during a manicure or pedicure. The body member includes opposed sides curved inwardly to allow positioning between the user's legs during a manicure. The back side includes an enclosure covered by elastic netting for storage of utensils used in the manicure or pedicure. The body member is easily moved from between a user's legs for a manicure to a position for a pedicure without modifying the body member.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 29, 2003Publication date: March 11, 2004Inventors: Kacie Lynn Abbott, Phillip G. Patent number: 6427274Abstract: A painter's tool providing multiple functions is disclosed for a painter's use in preparing a surface for painting, for opening containers, and for cleaning utensils. The tool includes a blade connected to a handle, with the distal end of the blade having a beveled edge bounded by a first squared corner and a second pointed corner. The blade includes a first side having a plurality of teeth along the first side, with the first edge extending outwardly at an angle from the handle toward the squared corner, thereby allowing ergonomic gripping of the handle while cleaning a brush or gouging with a blade corner. The blade includes an arcuate second side having an inwardly curved mid-portion for cleaning a paint roller, the curved mid-portion being bounded by two opposed notches recessed into the second side of the blade. The second side further includes a projection proximal the handle end of the blade.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 2000Date of Patent: August 6, 2002Inventor: Phillip G. Abbott

Patent number: 6421860Abstract: A painter's tool providing multiple functions is disclosed for a painter's use in preparing a surface for painting, for opening containers, and for cleaning utensils. The tool includes a blade connected to a handle. The distal end of the blade includes a beveled edge bounded by a first squared corner for gouging holes and a second pointed corner for gouging cracks. The blade includes a first edge having a plurality of teeth along the first edge for cleaning a paint brush. The first edge extends outwardly at an angle from the handle toward the squared corner, thereby allowing ergonomic gripping of the handle while cleaning a brush or gouging with a blade corner. The blade includes an arcuate second edge having an inwardly curved surface for cleaning a paint roller, and having a projection and a notch for opening containers. The painter's tool provides multiple functions in one hand-held unit, and reduces the need for a painter to carry additional tools while painting.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2000Date of Patent: July 23, 2002Inventor: Phillip G. Patent number: 4469358Abstract: Security devices for a toilet bowl and refrigerator are disclosed which are designed for preventing small children from independently gaining access to the contents of the toilet bowl or the contents of a refrigerator. The toilet bowl security device (10) includes first and further suction cup members (46) and (54) fabricated from flexible air impervious material. One of such suction cup members has a face area less than the face area of the further suction cup member such that the adhesive forces of the face having the greater area are greater thereby enabling the installer to determine which surface the device adheres to at all times. These suction cup members are joined by a stem (38) and as necessary or desired may be integrally formed therewith. In the device (70) for securing a refrigerator door (72), means (86) are provided for selectively joining first and further suction cup members 78 and 82 which are secured on the cabinet portion of the refrigerator and the door (72) respectively.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 1982Date of Patent: September 4, 1984Assignee: Terry E.
