Abstract: A method and system for testing of base stations of a mobile telecommunications network having a plurality of cells. A base station at its antenna is connected to a testing system by a radio frequency cable. Mobile terminals of a cell are emulated. The mobile terminals transmit data and sends/receives calls within the cell via the base station. A separate channel emulator is provided for each emulated mobile terminal.

Abstract: A wrist rest apparatus for supporting a user's wrist while receiving a manicure and holding the user's hand in a desired manner for the manicure. The wrist rest apparatus comprises a top console rotatably attached to a bottom console. The top console and the bottom consoles are defined by a solid plastic, semi-circular member having centrally disposed apertures in corresponding locations. The top console and the bottom console are joined together through a swivel member which is configured to pass through and be retained in the apertures, providing an axis about which the top console can rotate relative to the bottom console. Rotating locking mechanisms are included to allow rotation to be limited, with the top console being fixed in a parallel orientation relative to the bottom console.

Abstract: A method for making an ultra-high weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) medical implant starts with obtaining a preform consolidated from UHMWPE resin. Thereafter the preform is hot isostaticly pressed at a temperature between 150° C. and 190° C. at a pressure up to 30,000 psi. After the hot isostatic pressing the preform is sequentially irradiated in a solid state at a total radiation dose of 2 to 10 MRad. The irradiated UHMWPE preform is then heated to a temperature of about 110° C. to about 190° C. for between 2 to 10 hours. The irradiated and heated preform is then cooled after each irradiation and heating to at or below 50° C., and thereafter a medical implant is formed from the preform. Alternately, the process can be performed on the medical implant itself.

Abstract: A method and system that implement a process for managing video information on a video recording device. The management process involves receiving a video input signal including a video stream, obtaining content information corresponding to the video stream, associating the content information with the video stream, and storing the video stream and associated content information in a database as a searchable index for the video stream. The searchable index includes location of the stored video stream and identifies the associated content information. Then, content information from an input signal corresponding to a video stream is captured for analysis and searching the index to identify stored video streams related to the video program for suggestion to the user.

Abstract: A wireless end-user device contains a wireless modem, a network stack configurable to receive and transmit network data via the wireless modem, a media service manager, and a service classification agent. The media service manager manages network data transfers for media objects as requested by multiple applications. Even though the media service manager manages the network data transfers, the service classification agent provides a capability to associate network data usage for the network data transfers with the applications that requested the service from the media service manager.

Abstract: A configurable system brings Internet services, designed for PCs, to consumer electronics (CE) devices, and allows using external services such as Internet Services on CE devices. This reduces the need for input devices such as keyboards and mice, thereby making the configurable system suitable for CE devices. The configurable system relies on the structure of HTML/XML embedded in a Web page for information extraction by scrapping. Since cosmetic changes made to the Web site alter the embedded HTML/XML, the configurable system is updated whenever the Web site changes.
