  • Publication number: 20230393047
Abstract: Fluidic resistance units are provided. Fluidic resistance units of interest include a plurality of valves and a plurality of resistors, where each resistor in the plurality of resistors is fluidically coupled to and co-located with a different valve in the plurality of valves. In one embodiment, fluidic resistance units include an inlet for receiving fluid, a valve line fluidically coupled to the inlet, a resistor line fluidically coupled to the inlet, a plurality of connectors fluidically coupling the valve line to the resistor line, and an outlet for emitting fluid. Valve lines of interest include a series of fluidically coupled valves, and resistor lines of interest include a series of fluidically coupled resistors. Methods and flow cytometers involving the subject fluidic resistance units are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20070148043
Abstract: A flow cell and flow cytometer in which a nozzle at the end of a flow channel is disposed on a removable substrate held at a registered location on a flow cell. Other elements including illumination optics, light collection optics, and the flow cell may then be positioned at fixed locations and would not require subsequent periodic adjustment. The registered location for positioning the nozzle allows removal and replacement of the nozzle key with the nozzle subsequently positioned in the identical location.

  • Patent number: 6880414
Abstract: A sort block for use with sorting flow analysis system. The sort block includes a fin extending into a sort stream in the sort block. Unsorted particles and aerosol are aspirated into the open top of the fin. When error is detected, collection baskets associated with the fin extend into the sort stream, block passage of particles to the collection containers and aspirate all droplets and aerosol to a waste or retrieval container. This sort block may include error monitors, such as a laser and camera combination, which monitor the flow stream and control the extension of the fin and basket type collector.

  • Patent number: 6767188
Abstract: A device for conditioning of fluid to minimize pulses from a pump source. A pump drives fluid from a vented fluid reservoir through a system including a combination of an attenuation tank and one or more orifice. Fluid is pumped into a plenum chamber that supplies fluid in a pulse free flow stream. A pressurized head over the fluid in the plenum chamber allows fluid delivery at a selected pressure. A volume sensor monitors the fluid level within the plenum tank and activates the pump if fluid level falls below a specified level.
