  • Publication number: 20240117495
Abstract: Cold thermal chemical vapor deposition coatings, articles, and processes are disclosed. Specifically, a cold thermal chemical vapor deposition process includes positioning an article, heating a precursor gas to at least a decomposition temperature of the precursor gas to produce a deposition gas, introducing the deposition gas to a coating vessel, and depositing a coating from the deposition gas onto the article within the coating vessel. The article remains at a temperature below the decomposition temperature throughout the introducing and depositing of the deposition gas. The coating on the article has a gradient formed by the depositing of the coating having no flow for a period of time. The coated article includes a thermally-sensitive substrate (the thermally-sensitive substrate capable of being modified by a temperature of 300 degrees Celsius) and a coating the thermally-sensitive substrate.

  • Patent number: 11934914
Abstract: Methods and systems for generating content for a story in a book having multiple pages interspersed with optically readable codes. A method includes replacing sections of a book with respective optically readable codes, and storing digital media files in computer-readable memory accessible by a server. Each optically readable code has coded data to access a digital media file. Each digital media file has video and audio content covering a portion of the story. To consume an entire story, a person reads text on pages in some book sections and uses an optical scanning device to scan optically readable codes on pages in other book sections and access digital media files. A book may have an alternating sequence of chapters presented with textual content and other chapters presented with audiovisual content accessed by optically readable codes to cover an entire story.

  • Publication number: 20220325592
Abstract: A subsea wet-mateable connector handle has a handle part, a bushing support ring, a resilient bushing, a connector mount and a securing pin. A method of manufacturing a subsea wet-mateable connector handle includes cutting a handle part from a sheet of inherently corrosion resistant metal plate by a two-dimensional cutting process. A bushing support ring and a bushing are assembled onto a limb extending from the handle part. A connector mount is mounted to the bushing and the connector mount and bushing are fixed to the handle part with the securing pin.

  • Publication number: 20160128212
Abstract: An electrical distribution unit includes a first housing and at least one volume compensation system connected to the first housing. The at least one volume compensation system includes a compensator housing and a member, arranged to be movable inside the compensator housing to compensate for changes in volume caused by changes in pressure and/or temperature inside and/or outside of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7253745
Abstract: An apparatus in accordance with the invention may include a downhole tool and a data transmission path incorporated into the downhole tool. The data transmission path may include one or more contact surfaces providing electrical continuity to the data transmission path. To protect the contact surfaces from corrosion while maintaining electrical conductivity, a coating may be attached to one or more of the contact surfaces. The coating may include any of various materials that increase the corrosion-resistance of the underlying base metal, including but not limited to cobalt, nickel, tin, tin-lead, platinum, palladium, gold, silver, zinc, or combinations thereof.
