Patent number: 8386651Abstract: A computerized method provides for a computer to interact with peripheral devices where a complete set of control functions of the peripheral devices are operable on the computer. The method includes receiving by a computer from a receiver coupled to the computer an enumerator report having a peripheral device report and a device index included in a set of device indices. The peripheral device report is sent from a select peripheral device to the receiver. The method further includes determining by the computer the device index in the enumerator report. The method further includes routing by the computer the peripheral device report to a device driver associated with the device index. The device driver is configured to provide a complete set of operating function for a peripheral device associated with the device driver. The computer executes a command function from the peripheral device report issued by the select peripheral device.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2011Date of Patent: February 26, 2013Assignee: Logitech Europe S.A.Inventors: Jacques Chassot, Xavier Bize, Eric Tissot-Dupont, Philippe Chazot, Tarak Fekih, Pierre Chenes

Publication number: 20080294815Abstract: A method and system for data wireless systems on computers, for using the same cable to bi-directionally transmit antenna signals as well as other signals to and from the inside of a shielded computer housing. An example of a control signal is a connect signal for establishing initial contact between the computer and a remote wireless device. An example of a control signal transmitted from inside the computer housing to the outside, is a signal for lighting an LED. Antenna signals are separated from the control signals based on differences between these signals, for example, differences in frequency. In one embodiment, a capacitor filters out a DC control switch signal, while the high frequency antenna signal is filtered by the normal input pin circuitry of a processor.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 25, 2007Publication date: November 27, 2008Inventors: Rene Sommer, Pierre Chenes, Philippe Junod

Patent number: 6937615Abstract: A dual-purpose bridge for wireless communication allows both a low frequency (e.g., below 1 GHz) wireless communication standard and a high frequency (e.g., above 1 GHz) wireless communication standard to operate for a particular wireless communications device. Resources existing between the bridged standards can be shared to reduce the cost of implementing any one communication standard. The output signal of each communication system is coupled with a processor. The wireless communication standard that was used to transmit the output signal is determined and then the corresponding protocol is employed. Processing is performed in the processor and the resulting data can then be applied to a data port.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2000Date of Patent: August 30, 2005Assignee: Logitech Europe S.A.Inventors: Sergio Lazzarotto, Pierre Chênes, René Sommer

Patent number: 5884269Abstract: An audio signal compression and decompression method and apparatus that provide lossless, realtime performance. The compression/decompression method and apparatus are based on an entropy encoding technique using multiple Huffman code tables. Uncompressed audio data samples are first processed by a prediction filter which generates prediction error samples. An optimum coding table is then selected from a number of different preselected tables which have been tailored to different probability density functions of the prediction error. For each frame of prediction error samples, an entropy encoder selects the one Huffman code table which will yield the shortest encoded representation of the frame of prediction error samples. The frame of prediction error samples is then encoded using the selected Huffman code table. A block structure for the compressed data and a decoder for reconstructing the original audio signal from the compressed data are also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 1995Date of Patent: March 16, 1999Assignee: Merging TechnologiesInventors: Claude Cellier, Pierre Chenes
