  • Publication number: 20030119482
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for making secure data exchanges between first and second controllers (SIM, CA) such as an identity card (SIM) of a radiotelephone terminal (TE) managing communications to a telecommunications network (RR) for applications in an additional card (CA). A server (SO) of the identity card operator, or a server (SP) of the additional card transmitter matches with the identifier a mother key to determine the key of an application selected in the additional card. At least a parameter depending on the key is transmitted to the identity card (SIM) to make secure a data exchange. The identity card is thus customized on line for each application.

  • Publication number: 20030079127
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for protecting against theft the authenticating value for multiple application smart cards. In order to prevent an application having access to a terminal from simulating the menu asking the user to present the authenticating value, the method provides a mechanism forcing access to the interface for presentation and verification of the authenticating value by the secure operating system whatever the application which has initiated the procedure, whenever there is a request for authenticating value. The invention is applicable to terminals (T) designed to communicate with smart cards (C) including therefor at least a function key (PIN) or a sequence of function keys reserved for a system call to the card and to initiate presentation of the authenticating value.

  • Publication number: 20030057272
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for protecting against theft of a PIN number for (a) multi-application smart card(s) by applications which do not have any outside access. The inventive method consists in detecting operations for the verification of the PIN number by means of one or more applications devoid of access outside said card by counting the number of unsuccessful attempts irrespective of the application and by blocking the operation of said card when the number of subsequently attempted operations reaches a given threshold value.

  • Patent number: 6144406
Abstract: The panoramic camera according to the invention has a housing having first and second sections, coaxial with a rotation axis. The second section can be driven in rotation about the axis with respect to the first section by a motor connected to a gear. A lens is mounted on the second section of the housing and is both perpendicular and radial to the axis. A linear CCD array is placed at the focal point of the lens in order to capture the images transmitted by the lens. An analog-to-digital converter is connected to the CCD array to convert the analog signal generated by the CCD array into digital information. The digital information is stored on a hard disk drive, and includes data corresponding to the azimuth of the camera. Finally, a micro-computer controls the rotation of the housing, sends a control signal to the analog-to-digital converter to digitize the image and sends a control signal to the hard disk drive to save the digital information generated by the converter.

  • Patent number: 5827616
Abstract: A process for manufacturing a material from a greaseproof paper used as support. At least one face of the support is coated with water or at least one aqueous solution. The support thus becomes a pliable support, The surface of the pliable support is treated by depositing one or more pigmented layers on the surface. This treatment improves the qualities of metallization or of printing or of both of the paper, relative to uncoated greaseproof paper. The pliable support thus becomes a pliable coated support. The pliable coated support is then calendared.

  • Patent number: 5167226
Abstract: A treatment device and a method for simultaneously applying vibrations and percussion forces to a predetermined area of a patient's body adjacent the lungs of the patient. The device comprises a housing having a handle portion. A clapping head is disposed exteriorly of the housing and connected to a reciprocable element which is imparted a set low frequency reciprocation movement by a low frequency generation device to impart a clapping action to the head. The head has a contact surface for engagement with the predetermined area of the patient's body. An independent vibrator element is also provided and has a body engaging member which is disposed in relation to the clapping head and connected to a vibration generating device capable of vibrating the vibrator element at a higher predetermined frequency than the reciprocation movement of the clapping head. Preferably, the clapping frequency is in the range of from 0.5 Hz to 2 Hz and the vibration frequency is in the range of from 40 Hz to 70 Hz.

  • Patent number: 4325055
Abstract: An analog-to-digital converter using MOS-charge redistribution techniques performs an N-bit analog-to-digital conversion with only N steps, using two capacitors. These capacitors enable obtaining at each step a reference voltage VRi=VR/2.sup.i and either to compute a voltage Vi+1=Vi-VRi if the i.sup.th bit is equal to 1 or to retain the voltage Vi+1=Vi if the i.sup.th bit is equal to 0. At each step, the voltage Vi is compared to the reference voltage VRi in order to determine the value of the i.sup.th bit.
