  • Patent number: 5195863
Abstract: This loader-excavator has a boom divided into an inner boom (9) and a main boom (18), the latter being articulated at the free end (17) of the inner boom. The inner boom is pivotally mounted near the front end of the turntable (3) of the machine, and can assume a position inclined to the rear, in which its free end lies to the rear of the axis of the turntable and is above it. In this position, the main boom can be folded onto the inner boom and it then extended horizontally forward, its front end being substantially above the front part of the machine. In this condition, the arm (24) bearing the tool can be directed vertically downward. This facilitates the work as a loader. For work as an excavator, the main boom is unfolded essentially to be an extension of the inner boom and it is locked relative to the latter.

  • Patent number: 4417844
Abstract: An automatic tool holder for tools such as buckets, scoops and the like, for mounting on equipment such as graders, back hoes, excavators, chargers, etc. The tool and tool holder are provided with mating sets of lugs and recesses, one set being disposed on each of the tool and tool holder. The lugs and recesses are offset from each other in three dimensions, for strength and stability and also to permit free disengagement of the tools from the tool holder by relative movement in one direction. A spring-urged locking lever on one of the tool or tool holder snaps behind a corresponding locking abutment on the other of the tool or tool holder, when the lugs are fully engaged in the recesses, to retain the tool in assembled relation. A fluid-actuated jack is selectively operable to swing the lever out of locking position, to release the tool.

  • Patent number: 4337715
Abstract: This invention relates to a boat of the catamaran type comprising two elongated floats interconnected by a beam system carrying a cockpit. The beam system is connected to each float by a transverse articulation oriented perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of these floats. Structure comprising a differential is provided between the beam system and each float to maintain this beam system in a mean position relative to the floats. This differential may be of the hydraulic or mechanical type and under the control of a gyroscope. The cockpit is mounted at the middle of the beam system and is articulated about an axis oriented according to the longitudinal axis of the boat. Structure, such as a jack controlled by a gyroscope, is provided to maintain the cockpit in a horizontal position. A boat of this type, endowed with good stability, is useful particularly as a pleasure craft, passenger craft or as a service craft.

  • Patent number: 4329796
Abstract: This machine comprises a chassis which bears at one end a motor unit for driving large size drive wheels whereby said chassis rests on the ground at this end. At its other end, the chassis is provided with retractable supports by which it may rest on the ground. This end also carries a turret mounted on the chassis by an orientation ring and supporting the cabin. A working assembly is articulated on this turret immediately above the orientation ring in such a way as to be subjected to vertical clearance swinging movement by passing beside the cabin. Arms associated with jacks and supporting steering wheels are also articulated on this cabin. When the cabin is facing forward, the cabin and motor unit are disposed on one side of the longitudinal axis of the machine, while the working assembly is disposed on the other side of that longitudinal axis.
