  • Patent number: 5009737
Abstract: A pipeline arrangement includes first and second pipe sections joined at the axial ends thereof and has a heat-sensitive covering extending between the axial ends of the pipe sections and lining the inner walls thereof. The heat-sensitive covering extends across the joint between the sections to provide a continuous covering of the inner walls of the pipeline. A method and apparatus for finishing the inner covering are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4725507
Abstract: A large volume metallic composite container consisting essentially of a plurality of metal plates welded end-to-end, each said metal plate having a stainless metallic layer on the periphery of at least one side thereof and on the ends thereof and a heat-sensitive anti-corrosion coating consisting essentially of a thermoplastic resin on at least one side of each said metal plate and overlapping said stainless metallic layers over a length of at least about 10 mm and at least about 10 mm from the weld used to weld the plates together. The process of making of such containers is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4611833
Abstract: Pipelines internally coated with heat sensitive materials to protect the pipe from corrosion and/or abrasion, the edges of the pipe sections and the interiors of the pipe sections being coated with stainless metal alloy for a distance from one-half to three pipe diameters from the edge of the pipe, the interior of the pipe being coated with the heat sensitive material except for a reserved zone of the interior measuring from one to two diameters from the edge of the section and the heat sensitive material covering about 20 millimeters of the stainless alloy coating, the pipes being joined by a first weld of the stainless alloy and an outer weld of the pipe metal, together with methods for the preparation of such pipelines.
