  • Patent number: 5432984
Abstract: A self-clamping attachment loop of a strap comprises a pair of superposed rings in the form of rectangular frames having two openings of different sizes, and a transverse slot for the strap to pass through. The loop is either in a locked position following application of a clamping force or in an unlocked position due to a voluntary unlocking action causing sliding of the second ring and an increase of the passage zone of the strap in the slot after rocking of the loop. The external edge of the cross-piece of the second ring is located permanently away from the parallel edge of the first ring in order not to hamper the rocking movement.

  • Patent number: 5145027
Abstract: A sit safety harness comprises a pair of thigh loops in the form of closed loops and a belt with a central clasping device. Adjustment of the size of each thigh loop is performed by means of a clamping buckle fixed to the belt by an attachment strap and an adjustment strap securedly affixed by its end to the loop. The latter remains closed permanently throughout adjustment.

  • Patent number: 5076400
Abstract: A self-jamming safety device for a rope comprises two pulleys, one of which is fixed on a base flange, and the other on a support plate capable of pivoting on an articulation spindle. The pulley is provided with a first braking surface, against which the rope is pressed by a boss of the pulley when the support plate is driven by the tension of the rope to a first jamming position. The pulley is equipped with a second braking surface operating in conjunction with the first surface following continued pivoting movement of the support plate to a second jamming position. Switching between the two jamming positions takes place after the tension of the rope has exceeded a preset threshold.

  • Patent number: 5071716
Abstract: A casing for cylindrical electrical batteries of different diameters is equipped with adjustment means with pivoting spacers designed to occupy a first inactive position or a second active position in order to keep the positioning of the longitudinal axis of each battery, regardless of its diameter.

  • Patent number: 5054577
Abstract: A self-jamming descender for a rope comprises a first base flange equipped with an articulation spindle and a first fixed pulley, a mobile support plate with an operating lever pivotally mounted on the spindle, and a second pulley securedly united to the support plate and eccentric with respect to the spindle. The second pulley comprises a boss cooperating with a first braking surface of the first pulley when the lever is in a first jamming position. The pivoting support plate is provide with a jamming cleat, separated from the second pulley by a space through which the rope passes, and cooperating with a second braking surface when the handle is moved to a second jamming position. Unjamming of the descender takes place in an intermediate position of the operating lever.

  • Patent number: 4734834
Abstract: A portable lamp, especially for mounting on the head of the user, includes an adjustment collar designed to ensure displacement of the reflector causing a variation of the light beam focus, and operation of the bulb switch. The lamp comprises a single casing having an insulating body subdivided by an intermediate wall into a first rear compartment housing the power supply unit, and a second front compartment housing the bulb and the adjustable focusing device. The wall is provided with a communication orifice between the two adjacent compartments, and with a fixed sleeve to house the bulb. The switch is composed of an elastic contact blade cooperating with a flange of the reflector. Refer to FIG. 1.

  • Patent number: 4429351
Abstract: An electric lamp with a parabolic reflector in a threaded collar, provided with a device for adjusting the focus by relative displacement between the bulb and the reflector which occurs when turning the collar on its threads between first and second adjusting positions. The device furthermore controls a switch housed within the casing for the device. The device is particularly applicable as an electric headlamp for mountain-climbers or spelunkers.
