  • Patent number: 11973814
Abstract: A method for delivering an audio and/or video content using adaptive streaming to a terminal, the audio and/or video content being segmented into data segments available in various representations with respective audio and/or video qualities, the representations being time-aligned per segment, the segments being further divided into chunks, a controller selects, from a set of candidate caching platforms, the caching platform to be used to deliver the audio and/or video content to the terminal, as a function of a minimum burst transfer duration compared with the chunk duration as defined by an origin server providing the audio and/or video content. The controller redirects the terminal to the selected platform for further delivery of the audio and/or video content in the form bursts of chunks in response to requests for segments.

  • Patent number: 11254244
Abstract: The baby car seat track system comprises a track, a seat adapter, and a child seat. The baby car seat track system may be operable to couple the child seat to a vehicle seat in a vehicle. The track may be embedded within the vehicle seat running laterally across the vehicle seat and accessible via a crevice of the vehicle seat. The seat adapter may couple the child seat to the track such that the child seat may be repositioned laterally on the vehicle seat and may rotate around a vertical axis. • Publication number: 20170137126
Abstract: An obstacle avoidance system for a stabilized aerial vehicle and a method of controlling same are provided. Using low angular resolution obstacle proximity data, such as from low angular resolution obstacle detection sensors, when a determination is made that an operator command to a vehicle propulsion system will result in a collision, the system overrides the operator command and substitutes an avoidance speed command and avoidance heading, while maintaining operator situational awareness, in a manner that is transparent to the operator. In an implementation, examination of objects requires the obstacle avoidance system to allow the vehicle to get close to obstacles. A human-portable aerial vehicle according to an implementation can be used for building surveillance, route inspection, surveillance of windows/hallways/rooftops, power distribution towers, pipelines, bridges, buildings or close examination of suspect objects.

  • Patent number: 8892037
Abstract: A method for detecting matching profiles in an environment of wireless terminals each having a short range communications capability, comprises the steps of: —generating profiles respectively belonging to a plurality of users, —storing said profiles in wireless terminals associated with said user, —when a pair of terminals become in range with each other, automatically establishing a short range bidirectional communications channel therebetween, —through this channel, transmitting the profiles stored in each terminal to the other terminal, performing a matching test between said received profiles and other profiles previously stored in the terminal, and—when a matching between profiles is determined by a terminal, providing profile matching information so that the users to which said profiles belong can be put in connection with each other. The present invention also provides other related communication methods, as well as a terminal and a system for implementing the methods.

  • Patent number: 6004089
Abstract: A process for forming an easy open lid comprising a central panel having a score strip with a score thereon, a crimping edge and a ring enabling the lid to be opened by perforation of the score. The score on the lid is formed from a metal lid outline supported by an anvil by displacing a punch of angle alpha thereover and causing an asymmetrical flow of metal between the punch and the anvil during the displacing. This reduces the risk of crack formation in the metal at the bottom portion of the score or beneath the score.
