  • Publication number: 20230379426
Abstract: A method of receiving a live videoconference stream from a server is provided. The live videoconference stream comprises a plurality of participants each receiving the live videoconference stream using a client device. The method comprises receiving, by a client device of a first participant of the plurality of participants via the server, a foreground image from the client devices of at least some of the other participants, and outputting for display, by the client device of the first participant, the foreground images from the at least some of the other participants overlaid on a common background image in accordance with a position mapping received from a client device of an organiser of the live videoconference stream via the server. The position mapping is for distribution via the server to the client devices of all of the plurality of participants.

  • Publication number: 20210031915
Abstract: An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) comprising a battery holding portion configured to releasably hold a first battery to provide electrical power to the UAV, the battery holding portion being configured to hold the first battery in a position relative to a direction of travel of the UAV such that, upon the UAV encountering a second battery positioned in the path of travel of the UAV, the first battery receives a mechanical impulse from the second battery causing the first battery to be released from the battery holding portion and the second battery replaces the first battery to become held by the battery holding portion to provide electrical power to the UAV.

  • Patent number: 8655154
Abstract: A television signal recording apparatus comprises a recording unit that makes recordings of television signals and stores metadata representing information in respect of the recordings including the channel and the recording time. A graphical display of made recordings and scheduled recordings is produced in which graphical objects representing respective recordings are arranged in two dimensions, ordered in a first dimension on the basis of the channels and ordered in a second dimension on the basis of the recording times. In the second dimension, the graphical objects are arranged along a time axis which includes discontinuities at times when no recording is present, the discontinuities being graphically represented by graphical symbols that are different according to the period of the discontinuity. An electronic program guide is produced with a similar format, the programs being filtered to select programs and discontinuities being present at times where there is no selected program.

  • Patent number: 8117528
Abstract: An information handling apparatus, in which metadata is generated in respect of a current information item by reference to an ensemble of information items having associated metadata, the metadata having corresponding indicator data representing a degree of trust associated with that metadata, comprises a detector for detecting one or more predetermined properties of the current information item, a detector for detecting a subset of information items from the ensemble of information items, the subset being those which have the one or more predetermined properties most similar to those of the current information item, associating logic arranged to associate with the current information item metadata from one or more of the subset of information items such that the metadata associated with the current information item is allocated indicator data representing a low degree of trust in the association of that metadata and the current information item, and a detector for detecting user interaction with the apparatu

  • Publication number: 20110209090
Abstract: A display device including a display driver configured to drive a display to display images, a controller configured to control the display driver to drive the display to display an array of selectable items, and a user interface including at least one movement sensor configured to determine movement of the user interface. The controller is configured to control the display driver to drive the display to display, at any one time, one item of the array of selectable items at an increased magnification greater than the remaining items of the array of selectable items and to selectively vary which item of the array of selectable items is displayed at increased magnification. The controller is configured to vary which item of the array of selectable items is displayed at increased magnification in response to movement determined by the at least one sensor.
