    Abstract: A telecommunications network, which a first protocol, couples to a bearer connection, having a second protocol. At least a portion of the first protocol is mapped to the second protocol. A first signal of the first protocol is translated and inserted into a second signal of the second protocol according to the mapping, wherein the first signal of the first protocol is employed in the control of the bearer connection.
