    Abstract: An arrangement for resolving different types of events includes a central system communicatively coupled to each of a plurality of lower level systems. The central system is configured to receive information associated with a particular event from one of the plurality of lower level systems, to determine an event type associated with the particular event, and to determine whether the central system includes a particular policy associated with resolving the event type associated with the particular event. When the central system includes the particular policy, the central system is further configured to resolve the particular event in accordance with the particular policy.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a method for providing identity management for an organization includes providing for the creation and maintenance of one or more authoritative identity sources, providing for automated generation of an audit report on a periodic basis, and providing for automated user-account changes. Each authoritative identity source includes a compilation of data for a plurality of system users within an organization. The compilation includes, for each of the plurality of system users, an identifier that is unique within the organization and a current relationship with the organization. The audit report provides an indication of current user accounts for at least one of the plurality of users included within the one or more authoritative identity sources.

The event group includes a status change for a system user, a request for an audit report, and an implementation of a new software application. The entity group includes a human resources department, an information technologies department, and a facilities department.

    Abstract: A method and system for automatically authenticating a user to applications in a network environment. After an initial authentication procedure, the user's identity is mapped into a network credential which includes the user's role, and which is formed into a cookie. To gain access to an application requiring authentication, the cookie is provided to a script, and the information contained in the cookie is used to obtain authentication data required by the desired application.
