  • Patent number: 9715661
Abstract: According to a first aspect, the invention relates to a tool for modelling, instantiating and/or executing a Bayesian agent in an application. The tool comprises a modelling module which is adapted to enable a user to determine a template for the Bayesian agent. The template comprises a Bayesian network, which comprises nodes and/or node-level meta-data. The node-level meta-data at least defines node behavior and/or an association of a node with a software defined sensor and/or one or more software defined actuators. Also the template comprises template-level metadata at least defining lifecycle properties for the Bayesian agent. The template is suitable to be instantiated and executed as the Bayesian agent instance.

  • Patent number: 8990880
Abstract: The present invention relates to home devices such as set-top boxes, and more particularly to methods providing autonomous file transfers to and from such home devices. There is provided a method for spreading notifications pertaining to the completion of file transfers in time. The method is based on the concept of imposing different delay times on different devices, which delay times must be observed prior to notifying the server of a file transfer completion.

  • Publication number: 20110307593
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for alarm notification between a customer premises device and a remote management server interfacing with each other through a remote management protocol, includes detecting an alarm condition in the customer premises device, and transferring an explicit alarm notification from the customer premises device to the remote management server over the remote management protocol. The remote management server responds to the explicit alarm notification.

  • Patent number: 7599297
Abstract: A Method for providing a trusted feedback (8, 80) in an access network (1) is described, wherein a real time service monitor (7, 70) for real time monitoring the quality of service provided to at least one user (4, 40) by a server (3, 30) via the access network (1) is placed in an access multiplexer (2, 20) being the last part of the access network (1) towards the user (4, 40), wherein the real time service monitor (7, 70) is sending a trusted feedback signal (8, 80) from the access multiplexer (2, 20) at least back to the server (3, 30), which signal (8, 80) comprises real time information about the quality of service passing through the access multiplexer (2, 20), plus an access network (1) comprising at least one data link connecting at least one access multiplexer (2, 20) being the last part of the access network (1) towards at least one user (4, 40) with a core network or at least one server (3, 30) providing a service (6, 60) to the user (4, 40) connected to the access network (1) via the access multipl

  • Publication number: 20070223475
Abstract: An access node (101) according to the invention is able to multicast a plurality of video channels to subscribers, and to cache N of these video channels. To select the N video channels for caching, the access node (101) determines for each video channel a weighted sum of the zapping rate rk to channel k and the channel popularity ?k. The N video channels that have the highest values for this weighted sum are cached by the access node (101).

  • Publication number: 20040086064
Abstract: A method to provide cross-talk cancellation in a multiple input multiple output system that comprises a plurality of outputs is described. The method comprises a step determining during a first phase and according to a heuristic model, for a first signal to be transmitted to a first output of the plurality of outputs at least one dominant interfering tone of at least one second signal to be transmitted to a second output of the plurality of outputs. The at least one dominant interfering tone is in fact a tone of at least one second signal that would generate cross-talk upon the first signal when it would be transmitted to the first output. The method further comprises a step of executing a step of partial cross-talk cancellation for the first signal during a second phase for the one or more determined dominant interfering tones associated to one or another second signal.

  • Publication number: 20030152156
Abstract: A Multicarrier receiver suitable to receive a sequence of cyclically extended multicarrier symbols comprises the coupling of a window, adapted to window said multicarrier symbols, a Fourier transformer, coupled to said window, and adapted to perform one windowed Fourier transform for all carriers in said windowed multicarrier symbol, a per-carrier frequency domain equalizer, coupled to said windowed Fourier transformer and comprising a tapped delay line per carrier in said multicarrier symbol, and means for performing the equivalent to a sliding windowed Fourier transform, including a sliding Fourier transform. Thus windowing and equalization in the frequency domain can be combined without unduly increasing computational complexity.
