Patent number: 5068846Abstract: A record carrier for information, for example video and/or audio information, in the form of a disk-shaped carrier substrate provided with an optical structure in accordance with the information is described. By making the optical structure radiation-reflecting and the substrate radiation-transmitting, while the surface of the substrate more remote from the optical structure forms both the entrance face and the exit face for the read radiation, and by coating a surface of the optical structure more remote from the substrate with an additional layer, a simple record carrier is obtained which is well protected against dust particles and damage.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 1988Date of Patent: November 26, 1991Assignee: U.S. Philips CorporationInventor: Pieter Kramer

Patent number: 4962493Abstract: An apparatus for recording information on a disk-shaped record carrier body by a beam of radiation. The carrier body comprises a diffractive follow-on track which is capable of being scanned with an opto-electronic system so as to produce an electrical signal for controlling the position of the beam during recording of the information.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 1988Date of Patent: October 9, 1990Assignee: U.S. Philips CorporationInventors: Pieter Kramer, Jan Roos

Patent number: 4807209Abstract: A disk-shaped record carrier body for storing information which is recorded thereon by a beam of radiation. The carrier body comprises a follow-on track which is capable of being scanned with an opto-electronic system so as to produce an electrical signal for controlling the position of the beam during recording of the information.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 1983Date of Patent: February 21, 1989Assignee: U.S. Philips CorporationInventors: Pieter Kramer, Jan Roos

Patent number: 4569710Abstract: The invention relates to a process for manufacturing an inner tube element made of synthetic resin for a double tube coring apparatus provided for deep boring. The tube element is provided with coupling nipples for connecting it to other inner tube elements. Fibers coated with synthetic resin are wound helically onto a cylindrical mandrel so as to overlap each nipple. This process gives the tube element a higher strength than that of glued nipples.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1983Date of Patent: February 11, 1986Assignees: Societe Anonyme Diamant Boart, Wavin B.V.Inventors: Honore J. Lambot, Johannes H. M. Fliervoet, Pieter Kramer

Patent number: 4428602Abstract: An inner tube element for a coring apparatus comprising a double tube, made of synthetic resin reinforced with fibers and provided at its ends with connecting nipples, is entirely made of synthetic resin and overlaps, at each of its ends, a part of the nipples having a rough surface gripped by said fibers, preferably in the form of webs of glass fibers. The inner tube element is manufactured by a process in which two nipples or couplings are placed onto a cylindrical mandrel having a constant section and rotating about its longitudinal axis, at a predetermined distance corresponding to the tube element to be manufactured, a part of said nipples having an inner diameter substantially identical to the diameter of the mandrel and having a rough surface, and fibers coated with a synthetic resin are wound helically onto said cylindrical mandrel, so as to overlap the rough part of said nipples.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 1981Date of Patent: January 31, 1984Assignee: Societe Anonyme Diamant BoartInventors: Honore J. Lambot, Maria J. H. Fliervoet, Pieter Kramer

Patent number: 4397664Abstract: A device for supplying cooling air under pressure, e.g. for cooling the electric apparatus in an aeroplane at rest on the ground, comprising an internal combustion motor, such as a diesel motor, an air compressor having its suction line connected to the atmosphere, the pressure side of this air compressor supplying air under pressure; and a cooling circuit for cooling this air under pressure, said cooling circuit including a compressor, a condenser and a cooler. A cooler with air-cooling is operative between the air compressor and the said cooler in the cooling circuit, while actuating means, which reacts to the temperature of the atmosphere switches the compressor in the cooling circuit on and off when the temperature of the atmosphere rises or falls to a predetermined value.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 1982Date of Patent: August 9, 1983Assignee: Bronswerk B.V.Inventor: Pieter Kramers

Patent number: 4223347Abstract: A record carrier is described on which information is stored in an optically readable structure of trackwise arranged areas and intermediate areas. By giving the information tracks periodic excursions towards and away from adjacent tracks, in a direction transverse to the direction of reading, the period of the excursions being substantially greater than the average period of the areas and the amplitude of the excursions being smaller than the width of the tracks, a control signal for centering the read beam of radiation on an information track can be obtained without the use of additional optical means. The excursions of the tracks have such relative phase that the tracks are in nested concentric relation and one component of the stored information represents the phase of the undulations.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 1974Date of Patent: September 16, 1980Assignee: U.S. Philips CorporationInventors: Gijsbertus Bouwhuis, Pieter Kramer

Patent number: 4160269Abstract: Apparatus for reading a record carrier provided with a spiral structure in which sound and/or image information is stored in the form of frequency modulated or phase modulated signals is disclosed. The carrier structure is composed of coplanar regions of variable length separated by coplanar areas of variable length. Where the regions and areas are all in the same plane the regions and areas have different coefficients of reflection or transmission. Where the regions and areas are not coplanar they are spaced by a distance sufficient to produce in response to impinging radiation a one-half wave length difference in the radiation exiting the regions and areas. The apparatus provides a light beam with a frequency that facilitates diffraction of the beam by the areas and regions, and also provides a radiation sensitive detection system for converting the light beam modulations caused by the record carrier into a corresponding electrical signal.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 1977Date of Patent: July 3, 1979Assignee: U.S. Philips CorporationInventors: Pieter Kramer, Klaas Compaan, Robert F. K. Forsthuber

Patent number: 4077112Abstract: The invention relates to a charge transfer device (C.T.D.) with polycrystalline silicon electrodes which are provided on a nitride layer. The nitride layer has apertures between the polyelectrodes. Electrodes of a second metallization layer, for example, of aluminium, are provided via said apertures. The charge storage capacities per surface unit (and with equal voltages) can be made equal by subjecting the device for a short period of time to an oxidation treatment prior to providing the Al electrodes so that the oxide layer in the apertures can become thicker than below the Si electrodes.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 1976Date of Patent: March 7, 1978Assignee: U.S. Philips CorporationInventors: Matthias Johannes Joseph Theunissen, Roelof Pieter Kramer, Hermanus Leonardus Peek
