  • Patent number: 10196573
Abstract: A system and a method for converting Natural Gas (NG) to high energy transportable liquid (such as gasoline) are disclosed. A semiconductor UV-source is used for initiate a photo lytic reaction between methane molecules and photons having energy equal or bigger than the energy of dissociation of the C—H bond in methane. The formed radicals are further react to produce higher molecular weight hydrocarbons, while hydrogen gas is separates from the reaction mixture in order to avoid reverse reactions.

  • Publication number: 20100143826
Abstract: A fuel cell anode with high surface-to-volume ratio made of fibrous mat is disclosed. The fuel cell anode can be a fibrous mat produced by electrospinning method. The disclosed anode enables to fuel with saccharides fuel cells. In a preferred embodiment the fuel cell anode is provided wherein the anode is an electrospun fibrous mat, wherein the fibers are made of a polymer coated by a conductive material, preferably silver. This anode can also be made of fibrous mat, wherein the fibers are made of polymer fibers that contain metallic particles. A fuel cell that contains the disclosed anode and a fuel, such as glucose, is also disclosed in the present invention.

  • Patent number: 5388048
Abstract: A vehicle anti-collision device comprising a laser rangefinder mounted inside a vehicle near to a windshield thereof. The distance of the vehicle from a leading vehicle is constantly calculated and sampled at predetermined time intervals, enabling the closing velocity of the vehicle with respect to the leading vehicle to be calculated. A digital speedometer is provided for determining the self-speed of the vehicle whereby the safety time between the two vehicles may be calculated. The safety time is displayed and an audible alarm is sounded in the event that the calculated safety time is less than a predetermined threshold. Preferably, the rangefinder is coupled to the vehicle's steering mechanism so as to be responsive to a turning radius of the vehicle in order that the rangefinder may distinguish between two vehicles travelling in the same lane and in different lanes, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5306901
Abstract: Equipment for the collection of bar-code data from a plurality of work stations in a central processing station comprises an optical scanner at each work station connected to the central station by means of an optical fiber; all optical fibers arriving from the work stations are assembled in a fiber-assembly bracket with their rear ends arranged in one or more parallel lines positioned opposite a lens system; and the lens system transfers the alternating light and dark signals issuing from each fiber end to the photo-sensitive end of a corresponding channel of a detector, preferably a charge-coupled device. The detector converts the received light signals into electrical analog signals and transfers these to the central processing unit, where they are converted into digital signals for processing and storing in memory means.
