  • Patent number: 7524446
Abstract: Methods for manufacturing a composite rubber tire with a polyurethane tread comprise: treating an outer surface of an internal rubber body; preparing a polyurethane pre-polymer; improving the polyurethane pre-polymer; and applying the polyurethane pre-polymer to the treated outer surface of the internal rubber body to mold a polyurethane tread. Thereby, the composite rubber tire with the polyurethane tread is achieved and has excellent characteristics such as low rolling resistance, low oil consumption, excellent durability and low environmental contamination. Additionally, the methods constitute simple manufacturing processes that reduce manufacturing costs of the composite rubber tire with the polyurethane tread.

  • Publication number: 20040228897
Abstract: The present invention includes a medical device for use to assist stem cell and/or stem cell derivatives in repopulating, repairing and/or replacing the heart tissue in a failing heart muscle, in order to restore the heart's ability to pump blood. The medical device is made of biocompatible materials. The specific design of the device will facilitate the stem cells coated in the device to repopulate heart muscles inside the heart. Stem cells are attached to the coated device, proliferated and/or differentiated on the device in a bioreactor before implantation. The device also contains bioactive components that diminish rejection by the host's immune system. The device may be directly implanted into the failing heart muscle area to assist stem cells to repair failing heart muscles via surgical and/or percutaneous catheter based procedures.

  • Publication number: 20040130680
Abstract: A process and methods of digital enhancement of motion pictures and other moving image sequences for the purpose of being exhibited in an alternative display format including a large format cinema are disclosed. The invention efficiently enhances image resolution and quality through a temporal filtering process and achieves high performance using automated or interactive statistical quality evaluation methods. A system specially designed for efficient temporal computing with a parallel and distributed computing configuration equipped with a variety of optimization schemes is also disclosed. The performance of the process and the system is optimized through an intelligent controller and is scalable to support any throughput requirements demanded for concurrent motion picture releases in the original format as well as in any alternative format.

  • Patent number: 6415921
Abstract: The present invention includes a peel-away protective cover to help prevent contamination of a connector prior to insertion into a radiation source delivery device. The protective cover comprises a top sheet and a bottom sheet that are sealed together to create a protective pouch within which a connector may be positioned. The top sheet and bottom sheet may be peeled away in a proximal to distal direction in order to expose the connector for insertion into a radiation source delivery device. The proximal to distal peel-away directs any contaminants present on the protective cover away from the exposed connector. In one embodiment, the protective cover may be completely peeled away from the connector. In another embodiment, the protective cover may be partially peeled away so that the separated top and bottom sheets shield the connection to the radiation source delivery device.
