Abstract: Techniques for grouping images are disclosed. In some situations, the techniques include identifying at least one event-based image group among a plurality of images based on an event that is associated with each identified image, receiving a selection of one or more objects in a first image of the identified event-based image group, identifying other images in the identified event-based image group that each include at least one of the selected one or more objects, and associating the identified images with the first image. In one instance, the selected objects include individuals captured in the image.

Each file system includes multiple files and one or more folder. Each file includes a respective unique identifier and a respective reference to a data object stored in one or more data store. Multiple file variants are maintained. Each file variant includes the respective unique identifier of a respective file. Each file variant also includes a respective reference to a secondary data object stored in the one or more data stores. The secondary data object is related to the primary data object referenced by the respective file.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for local networked storage that is linked to a remote networked storage system. In a client application, it is determined whether a local networked storage system is accessible to the client through a local network. A file is sent to the local networked storage system over the local network for storage by the local networked storage system when the local networked storage system is determined to be accessible to the client through the local network. A file is sent to a remote networked storage system over a remote network for storage by the remote networked storage system in association with a user account when the local networked storage system is determined not to be accessible through the local network.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for storage of files. A portable memory device is configured to couple to a computing device, and a storage management application is stored in the portable memory device, the storage management application being executable by a processor circuit. The storage management application is configured to send a plurality of files for storage in a networked storage system, the networked storage system being remote to the computing device. The storage management system caches a subset of the files on the portable memory device and maintains a local file directory in the portable memory device. The local file directory lists the files stored in the networked storage system in association with an account linked to the portable memory device.

Abstract: Network service version management techniques are disclosed. Service access information, which is associated with access to a network service by a network service user, may be destined for a particular version of the network service. A determination is made as to whether a different version of the network service is accessible by the network service user. If so, then a further determination is made as to whether to select the different version of the network service to process the service access information. Any inconsistency between versions of the network service, such as different information requirements, can be handled by transforming received service access information. A replay function may also be provided, to have service access information again processed by the same or a different version of a network service. This function may be useful, for example, where a version of a service is rolled back or for debugging.

Abstract: Architectures and techniques are described to provide personal remote storage space for electronic content items acquired (e.g., purchased) by a user of a client device. In some cases, as part of a transaction to acquire the electronic content item, an individual may receive an option that is selectable to indicate a preference to send electronic content items acquired by the individual to a personal remote storage space of the individual. When the option to store the electronic content item in the personal remote storage space is not selected by the individual, the electronic content item may be provided directly to a designated computing device of the individual.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for generating item recommendations based on broadcast media consumed by a user on a client device. An item recommendation application receives a quantity of media information associated with the broadcast media being consumed from the client device. The item recommendation application determines a pattern of media consumption behavior for the user based at least in part on an analysis of the user's consumption history. The item recommendation identifies other consumers of broadcast media that exhibit a substantially similar pattern of media consumption behavior. The item recommendation application then gathers items purchased by the other consumers and provides those items as the item recommendations to the requesting process.

Abstract: Systems and method provide logic facilitating an interaction between a networked server and multiple, unrelated devices. In one implementation, a computer-implemented method enables a user of a device to interact with or control multiple, unrelated devices across a could computing environment using a networked server. The method includes receiving, at the networked server, an instruction from the control device. A corresponding instruction understandable by an unrelated controlled device is generated by the networked server, and the corresponding instruction is operable to cause the controlled device to perform the received instruction. The networked server may transmit the corresponding instruction to the controlled device.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for enabling an efficient processing environment for a functional programming language runtime machine. Separate processors are provided for the main FP processor and the garbage collector as well as separate access to the heap. The routine maintenance performed by the garbage collector does not compete for resources of the main FP processor. The processor implementation for the main FP processor also includes a separate bus to each of the program memory, the heap, and the stacks.

Abstract: A system for service access exception tracking and related method including an exception detection engine that receives a web services request message, the web services request message associated with at least one web service and a controller that sends a script to the exception detection engine, the script comprising a set of rules for the at least one web service. In various exemplary embodiments, the exception detection engine detects at least one exception in the web services request message by applying the set of rules and drops the web services request message.
