Abstract: A system to configure, manage, and execute voting includes a voter console device and a server system. The voter console is operable to communicate a digital voter identification corresponding to a voter to the server system over a first communication channel. The server system applying the digital voter identification to a voter associator device and a geo-temporal associator device to identify a ballot layout for the voter for a configured future election event. The server system applies the ballot layout to generate a ballot for the voter for the configured future election event. The server system communicates the ballot digitally to the voter console device, and forms a digital package including the digital voter identification and a representation of the ballot as completed by the voter.

Client workstations receive data objects from one or more servers and combine the received data objects with stored templates to render HTML pages representing at least a portion of a common project. Users may view, edit, and create common documents for the projects and upload them to the server using a drag-and-drop interface. Additionally, since all file transfers take place using HTTP, project groups can span corporate organizations as well as time zones and geographic boundaries.

Abstract: A method for facilitating communication between collaborators in a HyperText Markup Language (HTML) environment which includes the steps of: receiving data via a network connection; storing the received data in a database; retrieving an HTML file from a memory element; and using the stored data in conjunction with the HTML file to generate an HTML page for display. The data received via the network connection includes an indication that an HTML page includes discussions among collaborators. The HTML page rendered for display includes at least one discussion among collaborators. A corresponding system is also disclosed. At least one vote/poll item can be embedded within a discussion group.

Abstract: A text message abstraction system and method allowing for the selection of important pieces of information based upon a number of criteria and for the removal of unnecessary components of a message. The abstraction system of the present invention is provided with an input message, a command set and a maximum message length and attempts to generate a message conveying all of the important information contained within the text message but within the maximum message length constraint.

Abstract: Spreadsheet apparatus enables reformatting and renaming of items forming the spreadsheet. A series of items forms a dimension along an axis of the spreadsheet. A label icon or labelling entity is user nameable to describe the series of items of an axis. Repositioning of the label icons repositions respective series of items and thus redefines/rearranges the axes of the spreadsheet. Sub-axes to an axis are similarly formed by series of items associated with a respective label icon. Order of label icons in predefined areas of a working screen view determine hierarchy of main axis and sub-axes for the label icons. There is a different predefined area for the possible vertical axes, possible horizontal axes, and the possible orthogonal axes of the spreadsheet. A cell module holds spreadsheet data in a matrix of memory cells. A symbol table translates between current specified names of items in the spreadsheet and indexes to cells of the cell module.
