  • Publication number: 20230381792
Abstract: A portable centrifuge comprising a base, which includes a rotational mechanism contained within. A sequester wheel having a plurality of concentric rings, forming at least one channel and a central container. The at least one channel comprising a second volume and the central container comprising a first volume. A first cover is disposed over the sequester wheel to create a seal. A second cover is disposed over the first cover and is rotatable to engage with the rotational mechanism to initiate rotation at a predetermined RPM. The whole blood, tissue or other cell types are separated into its constituent components and deposited into the at least one channel and the central container. Specific volumes of the constituent components, tissue and/or cell types may be calculated to match or substantially match the first and second volumes for predetermined volume control and ease of access.

  • Publication number: 20230101020
Abstract: The PAPR kit is an air-purifying respirator that uses a blower to force the ambient air through air-filtration media to the hood assembly to create positive air pressure. The PAPR kit is module in design and can be employed in multiple use configurations and applications. The PAPR kit comprises a PAPR unit, the PAPR unit may be removably mounted or coupled to a back region of a hood assembly and/or a waist belt. The PAPR kit may further comprise an integrated or removable battery pack that is easily retained and/or removed from the PAPR unit.

  • Patent number: 11505382
Abstract: A multi-unit packing system includes a packaging tray assembly supporting a medical device or product. The packaging tray assembly includes a tray that holds the medical product within a spring-loaded card. The spring-loaded card being disposed within the inner container of the tray. The spring-loaded card including a one or more openings that are positioned to maintain the medical product in a defined orientation while preventing the inadvertent movement of the medical product. The spring-loaded card comprises elastic properties to allow it to be elastically compressed when the barrier is sealed to the tray, and uncompressed when the barrier is peeled away from the tray, allowing a portion of the spring-loaded card to extend beyond a surface of the tray to provide easier access, removal and transfer of the sterile medical product within the sterile field.

  • Patent number: 8371773
Abstract: A device for transporting articles is disclosed. In the illustrated and described embodiment of the invention, the articles are fruit such as apples, and the articles can be transported from a picking location on a fruit tree to a collection bin or other site. The device includes a tube member adapted to receive and transport the articles, and a plurality of deformable baffles at spaced-apart locations within the tube. Each baffle defines an aperture which permits the article to engage and deform the baffle and aperture so as to create at least a partial momentary seal to encourage article movement through the aperture and down the tube. The article is urged through the tube by a pressure differential created across the article. In the described and illustrated embodiment of the invention, this pressure differential is a pneumatic pressure differential. The tube and the baffle apertures can have non-circular cross-sectional shapes.

  • Publication number: 20120155974
Abstract: A decelerator comprising a deceleration tank and an extraction conveyor is disclosed. The decelerator is adapted for use with apples or similar objects. These objects are delivered to the tank from a pneumatic tube transport system. The tank contains a quantity of liquid such as water. In one embodiment, the objects splash into the water and are extracted from the water by an extraction conveyor. In a second embodiment, a baffle gate divides the tank between a forward section and a rear section. The delivered objects splash into the water in the forward section, travel under the baffle gate, and are extracted from the water by an extraction conveyor in communication with the rear tank section. In another embodiment, the tank is divided into first, second and third sections by selectively appeasable gate which provides an air lock arrangement. The extraction conveyor can comprise a plurality of side belts and a plurality of foraminous, flexible cradles hung between the belts.
