  • Publication number: 20220347698
Abstract: A solid-bowl screw centrifuge has a rotatable drum with cylindrical and conical portions. At least one solid discharge is arranged in the conical portion of the drum. A screw is arranged in the drum and can rotate at a differential speed in relation to the rotatable drum. At least two drum bearings are used for mounting the drum in a housing and at least one screw bearing is used for mounting the screw in the drum. The drum and the screw mounting are designed in the region of the conical portion or the dry zone in such a way that solid matter is transported with the aid of the screw up to a solid-discharge drum cover, which forms the termination of the conical portion in the axial direction of the drum, in order to leave the drum through multiple openings in the solid-discharge drum cover.

  • Publication number: 20220234053
Abstract: A solid bowl screw centrifuge includes a housing and a rotor rotatably mounted in the housing. The centrifuge has a rotatable drum having an axis of rotation, the drum having a cylindrical section having a length L1 and a conical section having a length L2. The centrifuge also has a first inlet for feeding a suspension to be processed into the drum and a liquid outlet arranged in the cylindrical section of the drum and a solids outlet arranged in the conical section of the drum. A screw is arranged in the drum and rotatable at a differential speed relative to the rotatable drum, the drum and the screw together forming the rotor. The centrifuge also a second inlet for supplying an additive to a solid phase within the drum.

  • Publication number: 20210308696
Abstract: A solid bowl centrifuge includes a rotatable drum having a cylindrical portion with length L1 and a conical portion with length L2, which, when added, give the length LT of the drum. A screw is arranged in the drum and is rotatable relative to the rotatable drum with a differential speed. At least two drum bearings for supporting the drum in the housing are spaced apart with a spacing LL. A spacing LL of the drum bearings for supporting the drum relative to one another is less than the length LT of the drum.

  • Patent number: 10882058
Abstract: A solid-jacket screw centrifuge is disclosed. The centrifuge has a rotatable drum with a horizontal axis of rotation which encloses a bowl with a rotatable screw, an inlet for introducing material to be centrifuged into the bowl, at least one liquid and at least one solid discharge, where at least the solid discharge is assigned a non-rotatable housing surrounding it, at least radially bounding a discharge chamber, where the discharge chamber is designed as a drying chamber for the solid matter and has axial walls and one or more walls in the radial direction. The housing extends axially parallel to the axis of rotation at most into the conical region of the drum or the screw.

  • Patent number: 5992777
Abstract: A machine (1) is serving the purpose of comminution for example domestic garbage, refrigerators, tires, furniture, carpets, mattresses, stubs, demolition timber and similar materials. The machine has a funnel (2) for accommodating the waste, a cutting table (4) placed at the bottom of the funnel with at least one set of fixed, parallel lower knives (9a,b) which mutually are separated by openings (10a,b) through the table, at least one rotatable axle (5a,b) of a drive unit (7) which axle is placed above the cutting table into a direction, which extends perpendicular to the lower knives, and a number of disc-shaped upper knives (8a,b) fixed to the axle, each of which knives is provided with a number of teeth (13a,b) and partly extends down into each their opening of the table. The lower knives are running into a direction, which intersects the axis (18) of the axle or an area around this. Thereby it is obtained that the teeth of the upper knives will have angle of action of about 90.degree.
