  • Publication number: 20020116374
Abstract: A system and a method for integrating design/engineering-to-procurement business process supply chain are provided. A buyer/user can access the technologies to perform design calculations using dynamic, real-time market data, and proceed to procure the selected equipment. A seller/user can list equipment and services on the system, and provide necessary data for design and engineering and transactions. A seller can also access and use technologies. A database consisting of technical and financial data specific to this fully integrated system is provided. The system is web-centric and can be accessed via the Internet or on local intranets. The system provides links to back offices systems, external catalogs, external marketplaces, and other services such as financial and fulfillment. A design methodology that integrates the engineering calculations with optimization of equipment selection based on dynamic market data is presented using a gas pipeline example.

  • Patent number: 4687059
Abstract: An enhanced oil recovery process comprises injection of water into a subterranean formation followed by the injection of a surfactant such as a micellar fluid and a thickening agent such as a polymer solution to drive oil toward a production well. Temperatures and pressures of injection of the water, surfactant, and thickening agent are controlled so as to thermoelastically fracture the formation behind the oil-water bank to increase the injectivity rate and propagation rate of the slugs of fluids behind the oil-water bank to control the shape of the flood front and to minimize misdirected fracturing ahead of the flood front.

  • Patent number: 4683951
Abstract: The effective permeability of subterranean hydrocarbon bearing formations with respect to surfactant and drive fluid injection processes is enhanced by preceding the surfactant fluid injection step with creation of multiple formation fractures using tailored pressure pulses produced by gas generating propellant canisters disposed in the injection well. Fluid injectivity rates are increased by subsequent fracture extensions provided by repeated steps of generating high pressure gas pulses at selected intervals.
