Patent number: 11645438Abstract: Generating a template-driven schematic from a netlist of electronic circuits is disclosed. The template-driven schematic may be useful to generate a set of related circuits for a single overall design as well as allow for a common transfer mechanism between different Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems. To assist in portability of designs, a common file format is disclosed based on a structured text file (e.g., XML). Further, in the disclosed approach, it is possible to not only place primitives but create custom symbols as well. In addition, primitives and symbols may be attached to models, simulation settings may be added, and routing of the circuit in a schematic may be completed. Associated devices and methods are disclosed as well.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 2020Date of Patent: May 9, 2023Assignee: TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INCORPORATEDInventors: Pradeep Kumar Chawda, Makram Monzer Mansour

Patent number: 11442520Abstract: A method includes obtaining a first waveform representing an output characteristic with respect to time of a switched-mode power supply. The method further includes removing a high frequency component from the first waveform to generate a modified waveform and determining a stable value of the modified waveform. The method further includes determining an operating parameter of the switched-mode power supply based on the modified waveform, the stable value, or a combination thereof. The one or parameter includes an overshoot value associated with the switched-mode power supply, an undershoot value associated with the switched-mode power supply, or a settling time associated with the switched-mode power supply. The method further includes outputting an indication of the parameter.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2021Date of Patent: September 13, 2022Assignee: TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INCORPORATEDInventors: Pradeep Kumar Chawda, Ning Dong, Makram Monzer Mansour, Jeffrey Robert Perry

Patent number: 10380291Abstract: A system and method for web-based interface design tool is provided. The design tool enables system designers to quickly and independently design a custom serial-link interface. The system provides interface selection and signal integrity analysis. An interface selection may interact with system designers to prompt for a set of selection criteria such as data-rate, supply rail, standard protocol, and intended application. An intelligent search engine screens through a large interface products database based on the selection criteria and provides designers with a list of devices that potentially meet the design criteria. The performance of the custom system with the selected device can be evaluated by using a web-based IBIS-AMI standard-compliant signal integrity simulator. A designers can have options to manually fine tune selected devices' parameters to iterate through different settings to determine the robustness of the solution.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 2016Date of Patent: August 13, 2019Assignee: Texas Instruments IncorporatedInventors: Kian Haur Chong, Makram Monzer Mansour, Ashwin Vishnu Kamath, Srikanth Pam, Yudhister Satija, Nithya Narayanaswamy, Khang Duy Nguyen, Pavani Jella, Jeff Perry, Pradeep Kumar Chawda
