  • Publication number: 20240137819
Abstract: Systems and methods for cross layer optimization for selection of a best or most preferred cell from conditional special cell (SpCell) change candidate cells are disclosed. The conditional SpCell change may be, for example, a conditional handover (CHO) or a conditional primary cell of a secondary cell group (PSCell) change (CPC). Conditions for a conditional SpCell change may be provided to a user equipment (UE). It may be that measurements on multiple cells meet the condition(s) for a conditional SpCell change by the UE. Preferences/criteria for selecting a cell from these multiple compliant candidate cells meeting the conditional SpCell change conditions are discussed herein. These criteria may include, but are not limited to, for example, a cell quality, an inter-versus intra-frequency handover, bandwidth, component carrier (CC) use, band, carrier type, needs/criticality of the application, congestion, frequency range, multiple subscriber identity module (MSIM) considerations, etc.

  • Publication number: 20240089933
Abstract: Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing time domain bandwidth part (TD-BWP) switch for balancing between the UE power consumption and a latency of the UE. For example, a UE can be configured to add a plurality of padding bits to a transport block (TB) to reach a predetermined slot capacity for one transmission time interval (TTI) associated with UE traffic in response to determining that a parameter associated with the UE traffic meets a condition. The UE can be further configured to transmit the TB over the TTI to the base station and receive a message from the base station. The UE is further configured to change a time domain bandwidth part (TD-BWP) based on the received message.

  • Publication number: 20240064645
Abstract: Some aspects relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing mechanisms for intelligent power saving in a wireless communication system. For example, a user equipment (UE) is configured to determine whether a movement state associated with the UE satisfies one or more movement conditions. The UE can further determine operational information associated with the UE, in response to the determination that the movement state associated with the UE satisfies the one or more movement conditions. The operational information can include location information, power level information, or background process information. The UE can further cease, at least based on the operational information and one or more operational conditions being satisfied, a signal measurement associated with a neighbor cell.

  • Publication number: 20230300580
Abstract: A connected car and an onboard user equipment (UE) may establish independent cellular connections and may also establish a connection between each other. The UE establishes a first cellular link between the UE and a first network, establishes a connection with a connected car, wherein the connected car has a second cellular link between the connected car and a second network, evaluates one or more conditions and declares one of the first cellular link or the connection with the connected car a primary network interface for the UE based on, at least, the one or more conditions.

  • Publication number: 20230217279
Abstract: A system and method for selecting a network interface for a communication device having at least two radio physical interface, to improve communications by the communication device. A configuration of the communication device is determined, where a first radio physical interface is designated as a primary interface and active, and a second radio physical interface as idle. A networking subsystem of the operating system executes a state machine configured to monitor network conditions and associated performance parameters of the at least two radio physical interfaces, to automatically outrank the second radio physical interface over the first radio physical interface as the primary interface.

  • Publication number: 20140065966
Abstract: In order to facilitate timely communication between electronic devices via a previously established communication link, a feed-forward technique may be used to transition the communication link from a power-saving mode to an active mode before a software application executing on one of the electronic devices attempts to communicate information. For example, if the software application determines that the information needs to be communicated to another electronic device at a future time, the software application provides a command to an interface circuit in the electronic device to transition the communication link to the active mode. After receiving a confirmation that the communication link is in the active mode, the software application provides the information to the interface circuit for communication to the other electronic device. In this way, the information can be communicated at the time without a time delay associated with the transition.
