  • Patent number: 6490581
Abstract: A method provides for an easily understood representation of the elements and relationships captured in a relational database. In accordance with the method an object model specification file and a database schema file are parsed to create a user-friendly graphical representation of object models and their relationship. The user is able perform a query by selecting one or more objects and setting constraints using the graphical representation of object models.

  • Patent number: 5831995
Abstract: The testing of a series of commands is enhanced using a multilevel approach that employs orthogonal arrays within orthogonal arrays. Specifically, an Orthogonal Array (OA) is applied within each operation and then re-applied across the different operations. Thus, the process initially applies an OA to an intra-operation covering the different combinations of command parameters associated with an operation. The process applies an OA to an inter-operations OA covering the combinations of all command parameters.

  • Patent number: 5694540
Abstract: The regression testing of a recompiled main software program is provided a facility which performs a limited regression test that has the same level of testing as if the main program were tested using an expanded regression test that tests virtually all of the software modules forming the program. More particularly, if an error is found in the main program it is documented in a modification request which a programmer thereafter uses to track down and identify the software module(s) that needs to be modified to deal with the error. At that point, the programmer modifies the identified software module and also designs a current test program to test the recompiled program to determine if the error has been corrected and that the modification does not affect some other aspect of the program. The modified module and test program are then associated with an identifier identifying the associated modification request.

  • Patent number: 4827499
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling calls in in a distributed processing communications switching system. A call is assigned to any one of a plurality of call control processors. The assigned processor thereafter directs the establishment of communications connections for that call. In the exemplary embodiment, the control of a cellular mobile communications switching system, a high speed data ring is used to communicate among a switching network, the call control processors, and call assignment processors of the system. Advantageously, each of the call control processors can be fully utilized since each may be flexibly assigned to any set of communications ports or terminals. New calls to a terminal which is already on an existing call are assigned to the call control processor assigned to control the existing call. Advantageously, call data for all calls to that terminal are therefore under the control of a single processor.

  • Patent number: 4599490
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling a cellular mobile telecommunication system. A switch and a telecommunication control complex cooperate to set up connection between a telecommunication network, such as the common carrier public telephone network, and a plurality of mobile units. The switch sets up connections between trunks to the telephone network and communication links connected to the cell sites of the mobile telecommunication system. The telecommunication control complex, including a mobile telecommunication controller and the cell site controllers, controls the radio connections between these communication links and the mobile units.
