  • Patent number: 11193371
Abstract: A method of formation fluid sampling that includes setting a dual packer tool in a wellbore. The dual packer tool is used to isolate an interval between an upper packer and a lower packer. The method also includes drawing fluid from the interval with a lower inlet, until an oil fraction increases over a base line reading, and drawing oil from by pumping at a low rate with an upper inlet.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 15, 2020
Date of Patent: December 7, 2021
    Assignee: Schlumberger Technology Corporation
Inventors: Thomas Pfeiffer, Vladislav Achourov, Ashers Partouche, Pratik Halani, Simon Edmundson

  • Publication number: 20180216415
Abstract: Systems capable of compliantly coupling electrical assemblies located within drill string modules or drill collars to one another can include male and female mating portions, wire-carrying hollow tubes including helical portions thereof, a plurality of wires, and interconnection systems for interconnecting the plurality of wires. Related methods can include manufacturing the drill string modules and various components thereof, coupling the drill string modules to one another, and tripping the drill string modules into a wellbore.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 29, 2016
    Publication date: August 2, 2018
    Inventors: Keith Moriarty, Pratik Halani

  • Patent number: 9466916
Abstract: A multi-contact electrical connector assembly includes a first connector housing to electrically couple to a second connector housing. A moveable piston is disposed in a bore of the first housing and is biased to be adjacent a first plurality of electrical contacts on a surface of the bore. An end of the first housing has a first pressure connector electrically coupled to the first plurality of electrical contacts. A moveable annular piston is disposed about a rod in a bore of the second connector housing and is biased to isolate a second plurality of electrical contacts on an outer surface of the rod. The second housing also has a pressure connector electrically coupled to the second plurality of electrical contacts. The moveable piston and the moveable annular piston are simultaneously moveable to expose and matingly engage the electrical contacts.
