  • Publication number: 20150005020
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing information about content transmission are disclosed. In some implementations, a first mobile device communicates with a second mobile device, via a short-range radio of the first mobile device, to either send or receive a content item. The first mobile device tags the content item with a tag. The tag identifies the second mobile device. The first mobile device transmits to a server, via an additional radio of the first mobile device, data identifying the content and the second mobile device. The additional radio is different from the short-range radio. The data is transmitted to the server for analyzing short-range radio transmissions between mobile devices.

  • Publication number: 20140279024
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments provide a campaign tool that enables content providers to bid for the opportunity to transmit their content mobile devices associated with consumers though a cloud based computing environment. The campaign tool is hosted by another entity. The content may be any of a variety of different contents types and may be tailored to be relevant to the consumer. The campaign tool may have a bidding system that implements one or more algorithms to manage the bidding process. The content is pushed to the mobile device following an affirmative action, such as an NFC tap, by the consumer.

  • Publication number: 20140183962
Abstract: A first device may have a processor and a power management system configured to receive a request from a second device. The first device may receive attribute data from the second device and compare the attribute data of the second device to attribute data of the first device. The first device may then determine whether the second device is a qualifying device based on the comparison and it may also determine a power transfer mode of the first device based on whether the device is a qualifying device and on the attribute data of the first and second device.

  • Publication number: 20140181959
Abstract: An input device may be in communication with an application processor, wherein the input device may be configured to receive an input and the application processor may be configured to translate the input to a received template. A secure element may be in communication with the application processor and configured to receive the received template from the application processor. The secure element may include a matcher and an enrolled template database. The matcher may be configured to compare the received template from the application processor with an enrolled template within the enrolled template database and return a match status based on the comparison.

  • Publication number: 20140025537
Abstract: Systems and techniques for providing an automated interface that enables a user of a mobile station to quickly determine whether a hardware accessory or mobile station accessory of interest is compatible with the mobile station are provided. A determination is made whether or not the mobile station accessory product is compatible with the mobile station based on the type of the mobile station and information identifying the mobile station accessory product. A message or notification indicating whether or not the mobile station accessory product is compatible with the first mobile station is automatically displayed to the user of the mobile station via an interface provided at the mobile station.

  • Patent number: 8588850
Abstract: Event messages indicating events in the life of data call connections for a mobile station are automatically provided by a user device of the mobile station to a mobile client application or a UICC contained in the mobile station to inform the mobile client application or UICC of the status of a data call connection. The event messages include data call connected, data call disconnected, and data call in-progress messages, which are provided without being triggered by the UICC. The data call connected event message is generated after a successful data attach procedure. The data call disconnected event message is generated when a previously established data call connection is lost or when the mobile station is in limited service areas. The data call in-progress event message is generated when a data call connection is requested while another data call connection is already in progress.

  • Publication number: 20130252584
Abstract: A method and article of manufacture to reactivate a user identity card for a mobile station that communicates with a network is described. The user identity card is initially activated with the network. The user identity card has a unique identifier. Activation includes communicating with the mobile station from the network and programming the user identity card with network parameters. The network parameters programmed on the user identity card are then cleared after a preset period of time. The user identity card is reset to an unactivated state and then the user identity card can be reactivated with the network.

  • Patent number: 8533369
Abstract: A smart card determines if the smart card has been inserted into a device, and retrieves a device identifier and at least one application configuration value from the device if the smart card has been inserted into the device. The smart card compares the retrieved device identifier and the at least one application configuration value with a device identifier and at least one application configuration value previously stored in the smart card. The smart card causes the retrieved device identifier and the at least one application configuration value to be sent to an Over The Air (OTA) server if the comparison indicates that the retrieved device identifier or the at least one application configuration value is different than the previously stored device identifier or the at least one application configuration value, so that the OTA server can supply application parameter changes to the mobile device for future device operation.

  • Patent number: 8509844
Abstract: A method is presented for enabling a dual-mode mobile device to access different networks. Subscriber data used for access includes a device identifier for the device and a module identifier for a removable module coupled to the device. The device and removable module respectively have credentials for different types of networks. The device and module identifiers are associated with previously stored information for a subscriber account associated with the device. The device is authorized to access the first type of network based on the stored association and is granted authorization only when subscriber data received from the device for subsequent access requests includes module identifier information matching the module identifier stored in association with the device identifier.

  • Patent number: 8306532
Abstract: The techniques disclosed here enable a mobile station device having a plurality of subscriber identities to select an identity for registration with a network for wireless communications in a way that takes advantage of the most favorable roaming agreements between operators. The identity selection algorithm, for example, provides the flexibility to select amongst mobile station subscriber identities of 3GPP2 (1×RTT, EVDO) access technologies and 3GPP (LTE/GSM/UMTS) access technologies as well as specific operators' networks for domestic and international roaming. The exemplary algorithms allow the operator to optimize roaming agreements in different markets and maximize revenue from the roaming of its customers.

  • Patent number: 8190198
Abstract: In one general aspect, the instant application describes a method for enabling dual-mode mobile devices to access a Code Division Multiple Access (“CDMA”) network. The method includes steps of receiving, from a first mobile device, a request to access a CDMA network, a first mobile device identifier identifying the first mobile device for the CDMA network access and a first integrated circuit card identifier identifying a first integrated circuit card being used by the first mobile device to access a Third Generation Partnership Project (“3GPP”) network; associating the first mobile device identifier with the first integrated circuit card identifier; and storing in a database the association between the first mobile device identifier and the first integrated circuit card identifier. The method further includes a step of authorizing the first mobile device to access the CDMA network only after associating the first mobile device identifier with the first integrated circuit card identifier.
