The device includes a touch screen for receiving touch input from a user. The game renders a game object that is moveable in one or more directions within a scene of the game. A touch input is detected from the touch screen when the game object is selected for movement. The touch input is analyzed to determine if the touch input is a movement gesture with a swipe profile and a direction. When the touch input is a movement gesture, the game object is caused to move along the direction defined by the touch input.
