  • Patent number: 9071989
Abstract: A computer-implemented system is provided that enables automated testing of a plurality of mobile devices residing at a monitor site. The system is comprised generally of a test controller in data communication with the plurality of mobile devices. The test controller transmits a test request over a wireless network to each of the plurality of mobile devices, where the test controller communicates via a persistent data channel using a short range communication protocol such as a Bluetooth. Each of the mobile devices is configured with a test agent that is configured to receive the test request from the test controller and execute a test in response to the test request.

  • Publication number: 20130097626
Abstract: In embodiments of a multi-user IPTV client device, an IPTV session is initialized with a content distributor that delivers video content to the client device. The client device enforces content viewing rights based on user privilege levels, and receives the video content for display of non-restricted video content based on a default user privilege level associated with the client device. An individual user having an individual user privilege level that is associated with the client device is then authorized, and the individual user privilege level replaces the default user privilege level, allowing playback of restricted video content. The client device continues to receive the video content uninterrupted when the default user privilege level is switched to the individual user privilege level at the client device.

  • Patent number: 8295200
Abstract: Whether an access network supports multicast-based IPTV services from an IPTV service provider is determined. A tone signal encoded with information for the IPTV service provider is used by a terminal to determine whether an access network supports multicast-based IPTV services. The tone signal is also used to determine whether collisions with other IPTV service providers on the access network is probable. Alternatively, a registration request including information for the access network is sent from the terminal to the IPTV service provider. The IPTV service provider uses information in the registration request to determine whether the access network supports multicast-based IPTV services.

  • Patent number: 7797749
Abstract: A combination of more frequent and less frequent security monitoring may be used to defeat worm or virus attacks. At periodic intervals, a risk assessment scan may be implemented to determine whether or not a worm attack has occurred. Prior thereto, an intermediate detection by an anomaly detection agent may determine whether or not a worm attack may have occurred. If a potential worm attack may have occurred, intermediate action, such as throttling of traffic, may occur. Then, at the next risk assessment scan, a determination may be made as to whether the attack is actually occurring and, if so, more effective and performance altering techniques may be utilized to counter the attack.

  • Patent number: 7748037
Abstract: A system and process are described to enable at least one of a plurality of host agents executing on a system to update memory region types of a system memory, register the at least one host agent in a registry stored in system management memory, receive a system management interrupt (SMI) from one of the plurality of host agents to update a memory region type, determine if the host agent issuing the SMI is listed in the registry stored in system management memory, update the memory region in response to determining the host agent issuing the SMI is listed in the registry, and maintain the memory region type in response to determining the host agent issuing the SMI is not listed in the registry.

  • Publication number: 20100138900
Abstract: A service control method, device and system for allowing secure, remote access of protected IP-based content delivered over an IMS-based network to one or more devices within a home network. The method involves a remote access device transmitting a remote access request to a service control application in the IMS-based network, the service control application authorizing the remote access request based on a number of criteria, and forwarding the remote access request to the home network. The forwarded remote access request includes information that allows protected content requested by the remote access request to be transmitted from a home network device in the home network to the remote access device upon appropriate verification of the remote access device by the home network device using home network device DRM schemes. Remote access of the protected content can be allowed by relaxing proximity restriction requirements of the home network.

  • Patent number: 7624242
Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention is a technique to protect memory. A memory identifiers storage stores memory identifiers associated with protected components. The memory identifiers include exclusive memory identifiers and shared memory identifiers. The memory identifier storage is protected from access by a host operating system. A memory identifier management service (MMS) manages the memory identifiers. The MMS resides in a protected environment. An access control enforcer (ACE) enforces an access control policy with the memory identifiers.

  • Patent number: 7594269
Abstract: Hardware correlation of software performance statistics. Software may gather data relating to performance of a hardware resource. A hardware component of the system of the hardware resource may obtain data relating to the performance of the hardware resource from a hardware component and the gathered software data, and correlate the software and hardware data. A level of correlation may be determined, and remedial action may be taken based on the correlation of the software and hardware data.

  • Patent number: 7571298
Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein to provide for host virtual memory reconstitution. Virtual memory reconstitution is the ability to translate the host device's virtual memory addresses to the host device's physical memory addresses. The virtual memory reconstitution methods are independent of the operating system running on the host device.

  • Publication number: 20090180614
Abstract: Content delivered to client device over an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)-based network is protected through a digital rights management (DRM) scheme that leverages IMS service and access infrastructure, such as the IMS core. After authentication and selection of content to be played for the user, the network identifies a key management system having keys for decrypting the selected content. A bootstrapping service function participates in an application-level authentication of the client device to establish a secure communication channel between the key management system and the client device. The key management system responds to a content key request received from the client device by providing a content key via the secure communication channel. The network can then stream content to the client device, which decrypts it using the content key.

  • Patent number: 7536479
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method is provided. The method of this embodiment provides receiving one or more packets that are addressed to an alternate IP (Internet Protocol) address and that include a LADLC (local application data link control) address in a system having an operating system-independent processor (“service processor”) associated with the alternate IP address and an alternate DLC address, and an embedded network stack (“ENS”) of the service processor associated with a primary IP address; performing filtering to determine if the LADLC address matches the alternate DLC address; and if the LADLC address matches the alternate DLC address, then replacing the alternate IP address of the one or more packets with the primary IP address, and forwarding the one or more packets to the ENS.
